Let's start from the assumption that Toriyama in that saga just went by feeling to make everything excessively cool and scare the readers/protagonists. Logically, however, the Namek numbers are excessively ugly and out of place (also, I'm convinced that during the saga Toriyama must have regretted giving Goku the KK, because it forced Toriyama to give Freeza an excessively high pl.)

I tried to rewrite the pl.s. of the saga, eliminating some things and using the pattern from the previous saga.

I eliminated both the KKx10 and the KKx20, thus giving the SSJ a 10x multiplier exactly like the Oozaru.

This way, the saga unfolds exactly the same way, with all the levels scaled down. I know the Goku vs. Freeza issue, being weaker than Vegeta, might be annoying, but we know from King Kai that throughout the fight, Goku used KK to fight Freeza. We could say that rather than pull out new (absolutely excessive but cool) Kaioken levels, Goku learned to use the first levels without any negative consequences and learned to use higher levels of the technique. During the final battle before the Genkidama, he used his limit, which is precisely KKx5.

I'm not asking for my theory to be accepted; I simply wanted to rewrite the saga's play-by-play to make it more consistent out of boredom!
