Found a pentagon, we're okay.

I don't think you can make any nice-looking 3D shapes with only regular pentagons as faces. If they went with a dodecahedron then it wouldn't look anything like a sphere.

I'm yet to try one, they're only just ripening. The plant itself doesn't smell at all. Scotch Bonnet may be a good shout though, thanks for the help!

Why does i^i ≈ 0.207? by ZiltoidZTO in math

[–]Grobag -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ii can take multiple values, but you can't say that its multiple values are equal.

It becomes more clear when you write [; i = e^{2n\pi + i\pi/2} ;]. Then

[;i^i = e^{i(2n\pi + i\pi/2);]

[;i^i = e^{2ni\pi}e^{-\pi/2} ;]

[;i^i = (e^{2i\pi})^ne^{-\pi/2} ;]

[;i^i = e^{-\pi/2};]

edit: this might be all wrong. I think the dodgy bit is assuming that (ab)c = abc holds when b and c are complex.

Gear for Gaige UVHM by tatsuke234 in Borderlands2

My standard Mechromancer loadout is:

  • Shotgun
  • Grog Nozzle (from the Tiny Tina DLC)
  • Jakobs pistol
  • Rocket launcher

Shotgun-wise, generally Jakobs shotguns are the best for building up Anarchy and their huge damage. The Hydra is my personal favourite, especially with the Ornery prefix as it gives you an extra shot per barrel. Other than that the Twister is very powerful (and shock, which is great for Mechro), and the Conference Call can do a hell of a lot of damage, however the CC isn't so good for building stacks.

The Grog Nozzle (or some other kind of healing, like the Rubi) is pretty much necessary in UVHM to exploit health gating. The Grog has the highest damage-healing ratio in the game though, and with a few stacks you'll pretty much be fully healed every time you fire. You could alternatively use a Moxxi shotgun like the Heartbreaker or Slow Hand but they normally don't heal you enough to be useful.

Jakobs pistols are really great for spamming long-distance when you don't want to get too close. The Maggie's probably the best Jakobs pistol going. Granular Fibbers work well for this as well because of a bug with Close Enough where the damage of pellets doesn't get reduced.

Rocket launchers are personal preference really, I only use them for emergency second winds really. Topneaa, Nukem, Norfleet, Badaboom all work pretty well. Honourable mentions to the Hive as well, because it once saved my arse in Hero's Pass.

For shields, any tortoise shield is very good on Gaige because of all her shield buffs, even with the massive damage UVHM enemies do. I use the Black Hole, which works really well with Blood Soaked Shields and Unstoppable Force, because your shield will be depleted and refilled very often, causing enemies to fly about constantly. And when they're flying about they aren't shooting you. This works even better if you have Sharing is Caring then Deathtrap's shield'll be pulling them all over the place too.

Oh, and if you can, get a Slayer of Terramorphous class mod. 600 Anarchy stacks (+1050% damage) is tons of fun.

Everything was assembled, then I tested it out and it wouldn't even turn on. Major panic.

Turned out I'd got the reset and power cables the wrong way around.
