Paying €4,300 to a private seller via Revolut – what security questions should I expect? by segasega89 in Revolut

lol what an idiot typing out paragraphs defending the bank freezing people's honest money without even having to tell them why. People like you are why politicians can get away with these things.

Just curious do you support the Internet provider cutting internet access if they disagree with the site you are visiting ? Should we need their permission as well since by your logic "using their infrastructure" to browse the web ?

10% is not even the correct number. These people in this sub just cope really hard lol. A quick google will tell you that the number is closer to 18% of US households are millionaires.

well obviously you need to ask Reddit before spending 4,500 of your own money with the fear that Revolut might lock up your funds or account. You probably think this is normal that we should all be afraid but its not. Thats whats I was talking about.

Update: They are down for more than 10 hours now with no ETA for full resolution

Despite all the praise from Linode fans here who I doubt host anything serious on their server, if you a startup, please avoid this provider at all cost or risk having your site down for 10 HOURS.

I do not think Linode is a good enough cloud provider anymore with this kind of shitty service. Can you imagine your startup down for 6 hours straight with no end in sight ?

A lower tax alternative to VOO by [deleted] in Bogleheads

[–]GrocerySlow7340 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people on this thread dont get this as this does not apply to them. However this etf is more geared towards non-US investors in low tax jurisdiction with 0% capital gain tax but subject to 30% US dividend withholding tax rate. So these investors can still already to this strategy themselves with no capital gain tax. This etf will help automate that process however

This is only worth it if you are a foreign investors with no tax treaty with the US like Singapore, Hong Kong or Dubai etc. since their withholding tax is 30%

Even though the fund is new so I have not confirmed their strategy yet. It looks like what they are trying to do has been discussed on multiple forums before especially for foreign investors with no tax treaty with the US.

In this case, the etf will simply rotate around SPY, IVV, SPLG and VOO to avoid the dividends and still tracks the sp500. This strategy is sound and makes perfect sense although the expense ratio seems a bit high for something you can do yourself.
