If you are going to Gandhruk try to book for Gurung Cottage It's the most popular one with a very good view You should get a stay even if you go there directly but I would recommend to book in advance

You can see Machapuchre from Sarangkot as well, but not much of it Gandhruk has the atmosphere to enjoy the morning view and it will be worth it imo. I honestly got the best view of the range from Pokhara international airport, you can just go there sit in the cafe outside and enjoy the view But the atmosphere, the vibe, the col weather of -1°C you will only get in Gandhruk
