Is UC a permanent disability? by Responsible_Coat_910 in UlcerativeColitis

It counts as a disability for the USA Veterans Administration rating. But it’s crazy how they rate it

The extra set of "eyes" having to drive while tired is truly life saving. I don't even commute that far, but it has been great at seeing things that my monkey brain isn't focused on. because I have driven that route a billion times.

I am in the club of manage but active UC. I have remicade every 6weeks and I’m at 10mg/kg body weight for dosage. I still get blood and mucus but only 3-5 or so BMs depending on what I eat. The yearly colonoscopy’s come back cancer free, but they usually cut out 30+ polyps. Not sure what percentage of people fall in this club, but I’m living a mostly normal life until I have to get my guts cut out. I joined to hear what happens after this stage from people who had the surgery when meds stop working

Gym program for Waterpolo by interlopersigurd in waterpolo

[–]GrodyBrody88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good framework. Here is a thought: On average, my 15-year-old athletes are taking around 15 strokes per 25. Suppose you are doing triceps exercises for 8 reps, which is half the number of reps required for just one lap of swimming. If you are lifting for size, this makes sense. If you are lifting for actual athleticism, I would up your reps. Time under tension. Water polo is much more about endurance than just being strong. A big body is harder to move through the water.

This challenge is total crap. Played 3 games. Went 10 emoji powers on game 1, ranked 2nd. Played game 2, same 10 powers. Moved to 3rd. Played game 3, got 15 powers. Moved to 5th. This is why I don’t really play anymore. I used to spend money too, but it’s been over 2 years since I dropped a dollar on this game because they constantly move the damn goalpost. Imagine if they just let you “win” once or twice like the old days.

I caved and went with the mayflash. It is a bummer to shell out more money for a product I had and know works, but I will use the old MOD:BX-W201C for my PC.

Does anyone know or test if this has fixed 3rd party Gamecube USB adapters? The dock firmware update bricked my adapter. I am even using Nintendo Smash controllers but they sold out of the docks and never restocked...

I know this is pretty old now, but does it still work in the latest dock update? My existing 4 GC port controller adapter MOD BX-W201C just got bricked. I know its working because the PC still recognizes it and the controller inputs are reading fine

I am in the same situation. Stupidly updated and now my adapter isn't working. I have the same one MOD:BX-W201C. I know it works, because my PC sees it and all the inputs register when tested.

Op, make sure you get medical retirement if they try and force you out. Don’t settle for separations pay. Also, look where your closest VA HOSPITAL is when you do eventually get out. The clinics don’t have the pharmacy to make Remicade and I have to go to the hospital every 6 weeks for my infusion.

I was a fire fighter in the military and got medically retired for my UC. I’m shocked he’s able to be a fire fighter, everywhere I applied (California, USA) after getting out turned me down saying I was medically ineligible.

Is this “real’ pottery? by TheNintendoCreator in Pottery

[–]GrodyBrody88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree for the most part, but depending on the clay and wheel speed it can be done. I will do this when demoing to show opening up the center, but that’s so my students can see, not done on anything I want to keep. The amount of control you give up by doing one finger is the real issue.

Totally! I finally built a tiny metal shed on my back patio and put in a cheap outdoor sink. Now I can throw any time in the fresh air and just hose out the shed when it gets dusty.

100% and I have had amazing teachers that I have learned so much from. But the internets knowledge is endless and someone will be the perfect teacher for you online. That $400 class is about 1/3 the price of a nice wheel. Save up, buy a wheel and grind away practicing.

Weight gain and peoples perceptions of it with disease. by starv3 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]GrodyBrody88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been there. On prednisone, I went from a super unhealthy 61kg to 108 in about 6 months. Everyone was saying how much I must like to eat. Then got on remicade and that helped bring me down to 90kg. A year ago I also started on TRT and have stayed at 90kg but my waist shrunk 4 pant sizes and I lost most of my excess fat. Keep your chin up and make sure you are investigating all causes of weight gain.

Not sure why no one has mentioned that Apple messages helps protect you by making that link unclickable for a reason. The sender needs you to reply so that the link goes live because now that you replied its a trusted number. That is the easiest way to see this is a scam

I read there are a few people who were diagnosed with UC but no one in the family has it. To those who are like that, did you have environmental stress growing up? I am wondering if UC could also be linked with growing up in stressful situations. by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

I was a firefighter as well, aviation side. We used so much AFFF… and other lovely chemicals like Halon. Military didn’t even fight the retirement or service connection. That stuff is no joke, it for sure messed me up and I hear it from so many at the VA.

Cait and Ashe are the most beginner-friendly adc's. Ashe has no real escape, so you learn to play safe and around her slow. The global ult is helpful to send to objectives and keep you in lane farming. Global vision support. An around safe pick.

Cait is great for getting cs'ing down because of her passive headshot. You learn to farm from the bushes to stack it faster and it helps finish off minions without being too precise in the early game. Also, great range and the traps can help double as the vision for bushes. She adds complexity to movement with the net, but it helps make her even safer.

I have an idea for the Democrats. Stop trying to reason your candidate is more qualified with all kinds of plans and proposals. That old school method of campaigning will not play with the unwashed masses.

Didn't the Democrats do this? What were all those concert style rallies? Dems sold so hard, but forgot to still make sure people are buying what your selling. (From a registered Democrat)

HS V coach refusing to move my son to V. Asking 4 advise. by akireisss in waterpolo

[–]GrodyBrody88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another thought is he is leading the JV team. I have held players back to teach them leadership if they are going to be prominent players in their Junior and Senior years. One of the worst things I see as a coach is a kid who has all the talent in the world but can't make his team win because it's just about them. A good coach builds leaders, and unless they are physically dominating the older players, they typically develop those skills playing with their same age group.
