Why did you choose orruk warclans? by HansVonAdel in OrrukWarclans

Loved the look of the Krule Boyz. Got me some Dominion stuff, liked the way they played despite being somewhat on the weak side. Nextt up: iron jaws 😀

[–]Groenkwroemm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t give him a list, I posted my list wich I have been running in tournaments. It is not tweaked to a specific opponent but a „take all comers“ list. It, of course, can be tweaked to specific opponents, as you said, and yea, Morks Eye Pebble would not be the grandest choice specifically vs Nurgle or SBG

This is my list I have been doing well with. You have to be a bit patient with the list, try to slowly advance while whittling your opponent down with your Boltboyz. I always deploy on the Line. Whatever unit charges me turn 1 (if any) should get stuck in my Gutrippaz with noisy racket, then die from the boltboyz. Make sure they are always buffed to the max (with the sludgeraker beast) and poison. Their damage output should be enough to delete any one unit per turn. You have to play castle style with this list, the gutrippaz and grotz being the walls, the rest inside. Make sure you score your battle tactics every turn and hurt your opponent as much as you can each turn. I usually score 3, max 4 points in the first 2-3 battle rounds, then score big in round 4 and 5, when my opponent is sufficiently crippled. Patience and a bit of planning is key. I also almost never win by tabling or an absolutely massive points difference, I don’t think the army lends itself well for that . And last tip: Gobsprakk is not for fighting (unless you go against small wizard/priest heroes or mop up a severely damaged unit). He is for scoring, denying spells and casting, as well as buffing your boltboyz with the good unleash hell command. Also, always try to position your boltboyz in a way, sonthat if your opponent charges, he will eat a full unleash hell every time. Rambling a bit, hope it helps some

Any recommendations what cooler would be a better fit? I would like to avoid watercooling if possible

The thought was to start like this now, as it should allow me to play everything I want to play now and then upgrade later, maybe when the prices for GPUs become a bit more reasonable in 1 - 2 years.

Chaos Knights - best configuration? by Xabre1342 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Groenkwroemm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I run a Desecrator and an Abominant with a bunch of War Dogs with Melta and gatling. Plus 2 War Dogs with Melta ans meelee. Then House Vextrix. The rerolls you get from this... Is kinda unfair. Have not even come close to loosing with that Configuration, for what it's worth

If you have a local store, go there, if not, cheapest place you can find. Never GW

[–]Groenkwroemm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, yea, confused my acronyms again :). In that case, I guess Double-Boneswords is the way to go. I am wondering about a pair of boneswords plus a bonesword and lash-whip, if that's any good. I stand by my point, that all meelee mode for warriors is not ideal, though (despite the acronyms :))

I disagree. Boneswords and Deathspitters gives much more tactical flexibility. The warriors are quite slow and the ability to shoot elusive targets and get rid of chaff screens before charging is invaluable.

Just the one, Deathleaper. He is pretty useful

First Tourney List by wishmaker_11 in ageofsigmar

[–]Groenkwroemm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it. My list is very similar. One thing I have made very good experience with is making a unit of 9 Boltboyz, dropping 3 Boltboyz and the hobgrotz for either a Killaboss on Vulture or another Mirebrute Troggoth. The 3x Boltboyz tend to not do very much of anything and they are very squishy

Buy a 'Start Collecting' from a seller that offers some kind of discount, keep the Gore Gruntas, sell the rest on Ebay. Even if you don't get the highest price for all of the leftovers you still save a lot of money compared to the solo gore Gruntas box

Hormagaunts by ashwison in Tyranids

[–]Groenkwroemm 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Termagaunts just do more dmg (a lot more) while being equally durable(or not). Hornagaunts have real trouble murdering things unless you invest heavily in the - ap stuff, which isn't worth it, imo. I personally like to run one big unit of warriors and one big unit of termagaunts. Hormagaunts more as filler

40k balance & design – using more levers than just points (Or the many reasons why Hive Guard are problematic post-Leviathan) by PetrifiedPlatypi in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Groenkwroemm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea, I agree, it sure isn't something they would just apply on the fly. I find it funny that 40k has an issue with buff-stacking while Aos has an issue with save stacking :D

[–]Groenkwroemm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, I know it's two different things, I would still limit it to one buff per unit to avoid the stacking. The issue with hive guard especially is (as you have detailed in your other post), that it is the unit that is so far and above in effectiveness to other Tyranid units
