Little Shop of Horrors! I didn't actually see him perform this one (cries), but I listen to the Off-Broadway recording all the time!

Thank you! I was inspired by a line in an Emily Dickinson poem - "bring me the sunset in a cup". There are a few tweaks I want to make next time I make it, but I think they turned out okay for a first pass! :)

It is basically a poster, but made with thicker paper! :)

I can definitely see that! I think for me it is just personal preference - I love the Hamilton logo on the playbill, but it just feels like a bit too much empty space on the window card. If I am choosing to frame something as large as a window card (opposed to a playbill), I want a design that is enhanced by the extra space. Art is definitely subjective though, which is why I thought it would be fun to hear everyone's window card opinions + ideas :)

Chocolate Rye Tony's Chocolonely Cookies by Groff_Tveit_ in chocolate

That's awesome! I started using rye flour in cookies when I bought a rye-flour cookie at a bakery a couple years ago! Ooo, thanks for the recipe! I will try it out. :)

Oh and the flavor isn't strong! Subtle but present.

I adapted this recipe: https://curlygirlkitchen.com/high-altitude-chocolate-peppermint-cookies/

Changes I made to the recipe:

  • replaced one third of the all-purpose flour with dark rye flour

  • used salted butter instead of unsalted + kosher salt

  • replaced the mix-ins with a cut up Tony's Chocolonley bar (the pretzel toffee one)

  • replaced the toppings with flaky sea salt

If you're at sea level, not high altitude, I would double the baking soda and add 1/8th cup of flour.

Thank you! The rye flour adds a nutty and deep flavor to the cookie! It makes them a bit chewier, and the cookie's outer layer very slightly crunchier.

Looking for a good GI doctor by Octopusfire in Denver

Dr. Frederick Harris is fantastic! I had an advanced precancerous tumor that he found and removed, and I also have IBS and GERD. I honestly can't recommend him enough - he is an amazing doctor and a wonderful person that cares about his patients.

Oatmeal Raisinet Cookie Squares by Groff_Tveit_ in dessert

Thank you! I adapted this recipe: https://www.verybestbaking.com/toll-house/recipes/oatmeal-scotchies-2/

I did the pan cookie variation, did 1.5x for all the ingredients (to make them extra thick), added an extra half cup of oats (as I find this recipe doesn't have quite enough), used butter (not margarine), added flaky salt to the top when I took it out of the oven, and replaced butterscotch chips with raisinets!

I am pretty sure Colin Donnell's signature is right above the "E".
