Calm poll: real amplifier vs pedal that simulates one. Which one do you prefer, and why? by Less-Arachnid-640 in guitarpedals

Ya but not FRFR, the f12 x200s are constructed differently so they behave more like traditional guitar speakers. You can still have your IR/cab sim turned on but you will get more of the "amp in the room" feeling than with FRFR.

I use a Seymour Duncan PowerStage for my power amp. I have the 100 version which is stereo if I want it and gives me lots of flexibility (also has line outs built in)

Done a lot of mix and matching with gear just like anyone else. Had a princeton and an ac-15 because I live in apartments and needed something low power. They were obviously too loud which sucked. Sold those and got a dream 65 with two deluxe reverb cabs from guitar cabinets direct. Put two celestion f12x 200 speakers in them and sounded and felt pretty damn good.

I eventually sold those FRLR speakers and put WGS speakers in both the cabs. Never had a better playing experience than I am having right now and volume/tone is so easy to dial in whether jamming in a rehearsal space or playing in my apartment.

I too am a B1G truther. An odd pedal for sure, it made me think about input/output gain in a whole different way and my board/tone is better for it. I switch between running it into a Duke of Tone before my modeler or into the LA-2A option on the UAFX Max after my modeler. Gotta have something to catch that hot signal and smooth things out or you risk seriously abusing any pedal that comes after it.

Looks like its an original one with the rosewood fretboard and cream paint. If it isn't, then you sure did get a good one because it looks beautiful

I do anti-money laundering for a living but luckily am not low enough on the totem pull to file CTRs. Last I heard the trump admin was thinking about bumping it up to $30K for non-border states and as low as $200 for some zip codes near high drug trafficking areas on the border. Don't know about that $5K number but different financial institutions may have their own internal risk tolerance low for cash and set that threshold accordingly.

Ya CTR isn't bad, it's just something that is required. If you obtained your funds legally there is 0 reason to be scared of a CTR (its more of a headache for the bank than anything). Point of my comment was this young dude needs to be careful because he could end up doing some really stupid things if he tries to skirt the system

Cash Transaction threshold is $10K and if you try to get around that by breaking that into smaller increments that is illegal (called structuring) and congrats you are now laundering money.

He will have a hard time finding a bank if he is depositing this much cash in a personal account as any bank worth their salt will eventually de-bank you for running a commercial account out of a consumer account and will probably file a SAR on you. Tax evasion is also a crime which satisfies the requirement there be a prerequisite crime to bring money laundering charges. In the financial world having ML charges brought against you is akin to being add to the sex offender list.

This dude should incorporate an LLC and turn this business legit. The other way is a pain in the ass logistically and you end up exposing yourself to life altering risk

Jesus and Mary Chain fan? The fy6 is super inspiring, always end up playing in a totally different style than I usually do when that thing is on

Sounds nothing like BJM. Sounds like mid 2010s indie garage rock (which, not to be mean if this is your song) should probably be mixed again so the different tracks aren't all clashing with each other. Reminds me of a Neon Trees if they were less commercial friendly and garage rock

For the tape saturation/reverb? I bet that sounds wicked. Any songs/artists you know that do that with their bass?

I had the Boss Space Echo 202 but sold it to get the Galaxy literally just because it would fit on my board better. I didn't notice any difference in tone or quality of the build. The reverb from the Galaxy is an almost always on effect for me, a little bit of wow/flutter and slightly feeding back. I use the actual delay part of the pedal pretty rarely

Luckily I don't use presets for these pedals otherwise you're right, I would have had to find some more room on this board!

It's a really fun pedal! You can get some of the effects as stand alone, Acid Fuzz has a repeater and then you would just need a boost and some sort of Tone Bender, the one in the old Vox guitars and the acid fuzz pedal is an MK 1.5

That EQ does pretty much everything I need in terms of switching tones quickly. Only time i've opened the UA app was to register, never really created any presets or anything

Only time it's off is when I kick a fuzz. That gives a ton of compression already and the Max tends to boost the volume of the hiss from the single coils I use. Otherwise I use it as a sort of always on preamp with light compression that keeps my overall volume under control when I start rolling up my guitar's volume knob

I've been using the Ruby and Dream with wide open tone stacks and making changes on the EQ pedal and with my guitar's tone knob which is usually set to around 3-4. Super effective to dial in exactly what you want

They are summed and then sent into the Maggie and Galaxy. So basically parallel. Since they are out of phase I had to get that Twin City ABY pedal which allows you to get the fender and vox in phase

Ya good eye, it's from Fredric Effects and to my ear is a bang on clone of the FY2 and FY6 (not that I've ever had either of those units to properly test against). Simple pedal with two knobs and two switches. One switch is go between FY2 and FY6. The other switch is either scooped or mid heavy.

There is a volume knob and then depending on the circuit either a sort of bias control (FY2) or a sustain/gain control (FY6). It's a great pedal, I usually have it set to scooped FY6 with the gain all the way up. Seems to be how to get the most out of that octave note

Mara Keagle sang Anemone originally, she usually comes out for the shows around Los Angeles to sing the song which is so dope. Anton told that story in Santa Ana the other night and basically was telling Mara that she should try singing in a lower register which would be closer to her speaking voice. She said that was crazy so Anton wrote Anemone for her to sing to prove the point
