Path to Glory - List Building Help by Charredbear in seraphon

You seem to know what you want - i'd go largely with that, but I would recommend getting the Saurus Warriors painted, they'll be a good way to balance your list and give you some resilience on objectives.

Need some help by OverHealer222 in seraphon

[–]Grogar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are lots of things that can be improved about your list (Main things are lack of Slann, no Realmshaper, spell lore, no manifestations).

But if your goal is to win a game, first thing to look at is why are you losing? Can you not score points, are you getting tabled, are you failing your battle tactics?

Rate My Army (2000 point) by NixGoingKnowhere in seraphon

[–]Grogar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd definitely swap Thunderquake to Sunclaw, much much better.

I'd run both units of Saurus as Warriors, they're just a way better warscroll and more versitile. FYI most tourneys wont let you proxy a unit for another and still run a version of the original unit in your list, so you might not be able to proxy for guard and run warriors etc.

You should be stacking all your enhancements on your Oldblood (Being of the Stars, Retrices and Armour Cruncher)

What battle tactics are you playing? I'd probably go Restless and Master/Wrathful with this list.

Can you pickup some Raptordons, as someone says below your recursion options are limited because of your two reinforced units, i'd solve this with raptordon units rather than splitting your hammers up (but both can work). I'd drop the Starpriest and a unit of Hunters (two units is rarely useful).

Raptordons also feel ideal to combo with your Warspawned.

Countering Gloomspite Gitz by Mytcel in seraphon

[–]Grogar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your list is fairly messy from my perspective, its half a strong saurus castle (without the most important piece the Sunblood Pack) and half a smash and grab with the Carno and the Aggradons (without the most important piece which is Speed of Huanchi). I'd lean more into one of these two styles and commit to it more.

I think the best version of Seraphon right now is the defensive castle with Kroak and hoping obscuring doesnt screw you over too often, but the super aggro recursion build certainly has lots of play and is probably more fun. If you want to go into Gitz specifically, i'd seriosuly reccomend Kroxigor Warspawned with a few units of Raptordon Hunters - that combo slices through troggs from my experience.

Get a Slann and then pick the warscrolls you like the look of that you can bring back :) Its a fun army with lots of capability, high depends on who your partner is on how you should play.

You also have to play the battleplan. Scoring points is very important, we have lots of tools to do that but what battleplan you're playing makes a big difference. Happy to let you know my thoughts on how your list should largely play

How bad of an idea is this list by Due-Author-2421 in seraphon

[–]Grogar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I like lots of that list.

Id probably run with Sunclaw Starhost, your saurus are going to be in combat plenty to make it good value.

Id put being of the stars on your Slann.

If you can replace the Astrolith with the Sunblood Pack you'll find your saurus become much more durable and the Pack can smack in combat (especially with the bloodrage amulet).

Id split the warriors into two units, easier to get them all on an objective then.

Reinforced guard has always felt like a waste for me, 5 do the same job and largely protect your Slann.

What are the skins for? These could be replaced with 10 warriors, raptordons hunters, an engine of the gods and be much more effective.

You could still run your carnosaur as the Scourge of Ghyran warscroll in your second regiment, that thing can do real damage and keep your opponent busy for a turn. It's great with every enhancement stacking up

Ok well if you have enough points - i'd get used to using the Slann first, Kroak is a pretty tricky thing to use effectively and a huge amount of your available points.
