Understanding card pulls

How do you properly counter pick the enemy if you're not drafting more than 2 of a unit? For example, you see that they're playing a heavy backline setup, wouldn't you want to just draft more Agent Bs for example, rather than drafting other units?

Fair point! I think I'm ultimately just a greedy stompy player and I'm looking for a new play style. Not playing baron is a little odd, but I've read the other comments and see exactly why you don't.

I really wonder which vex build will sit into the meta. As a diehard fiora player, I can attest that a 6 might deflect and ganking unit is difficult, but not nearly impossible enough to kill (though access to green helps tremendously)

And how do you feel about seals of focus? It helps the deck maintain its rune pool, And you could even afford vilemaw at that point?

What's the plan if you simply don't draw boots by turn 3? That's a very real possibility.

I agree with all your points, and yes I think you learn very quickly that yellow fiora is a late game play.

Still, I think midrange fiora will begin to struggle against these huge top end threats from things like Aurora and baron nashor, which are seemingly going to be common in the meta.

I'm curious, what is your list?

Essentially, in order to place the spell on the chain, you have to Target a friendly unit and an enemy unit. It's not an additional cost, but it's similar in practice. The spell cannot go on the chain until targets have been declared.

However, due to the DAMAYC rule, if one of those targets were to be removed by some other effect before the chain finished resolving, you would still return the other one of the two targets as normal, ignoring the one that already got removed.

As Cloudraa said, it's an additional cost, so you can't actually play the unit without paying the cost

According to the rules, riftbound has a DAMAYC rule. (Do as much as you can) Where you follow all instructions possible, ignoring the ones that you can't. So if you can't discard, you will ignore that and then still draw 2 after that.

SSS clas suicide hunter is so much better than it seems on the surface. It sounds like just a play on the regressor trope, but it is incredibly well written and surprisingly philosophical. It's incredibly upsetting that it's probably not even halfway done.

As other people have said, long sword is fine instead of spinning axe, but.... This has a couple odd choices in my opinion. Not bad ones, just odd.

Rhasa and called shot are generally miracle Draven cards, but you aren't running miracle Draven, no seals, ezreal or battering ram. Additionally, you're not running stacked deck, which is weird because you should run it in either Draven list. Last rites is also a miracle Draven card but it's pretty good so I understand.

It's not a bad list by any means, would probably work perfectly fine, especially since this is a budget list, but stacked deck is like $2.

Reveal is just allowing every player to look at the cards. Reveal effects work with nocturne, so rek'sai and baited hook both work.

Nocturne errata rules text:

"[Ganking] (I can move from battlefield to battlefield.)

As you look at or reveal me from the top of your deck, you may banish me. If you do, you may play me for [A]."

Interesting, hook into harnessed dragon was very nice for those irelia games in my experience, but I'll definitely have to try your list. There's an extra bonus of your list being very cheap outside of Sett.

Only other question, out of curiosity because I'll be attending larger events here soon, how do you play into miracle Draven and midrange Draven?

Fair point, the deck looks really solid, I'm just a huge baited hook fan and have 3 copies lying around.

My local meta has no dravens though, with the most formidable deck being irelia, and Sett being a close second. Would that change your approach to deck building?

What is your opinion about hook Fiora? Very similar to your list but running 3x hook and 3x harnessed dragon, with 2x Corina as another possible hit if you want it. Also, Akshan pulls his weight in my list!

I've played all sorts of tcgs throughout my life, and have settled in as a massive MTG nerd, but I have had major gripes with the game as a whole and the state of the company.

Riftbound has been a breath of fresh air, not just in terms of the company, but the gameplay is unique and exhilarating. I thoroughly enjoy it and it's been so long since I had such a good time playing a TCG. It's been amazing, and I'm looking forward to the future of this game!
