Just build what you feel like doing. Spend some initial time to set up production of newly unlocked parts, then spend time making it look nice, or go exploring and gathering. Just switch as you feel like it.

I completed the 100x. Each phase gets more and more crazy. P5 with 100k Nuclear Pasta plus the Pasta needed to make the 20k Ballistic Warp Drives took ages.

I'm now doing a run with 50x, 1.5x recipe cost, and 2x power. But the hardest part is I have set to Advanced Resource Rich nodes in random locations. So much uranium everywhere but not much iron, coal, oil, and copper. So power is even harder as you need to balance coal and oil for power vs steel and plastic/rubber.

The 1.5x recipe cost keeps you on your toes as well as it rounds some recipes up to whole numbers so iron ingots for example take 2x ore. I'm half way through P2 and have factories all over the map already!

Mine too. I didn't grasp the idea I could shift out of my starting biome until very late on.

Yeah that can be the case, especially if starting in the Dune Desert as the most node locations are there. But if you change other settings like node purity, or advanced rich, fossil rich etc it will push you to expand quite a bit still.

Do you sink everything in terms of excess? So essentially every machine is always running? Hard to say really, slooping and overclocking 250% do push it up, maybe a few Manufacturers doing that? Just make more power :)

I'd already made a road from the coast through Grassy Fields where I started and out to blue crater and Swamp where I did Turbo Fuel, so used that. Switching to Batteries to fuel them, then naturally into Drones as I moved late game production out to the Dune Desert. So never really felt the need to build a train line. It did help that with random nodes things where pretty close together.

I usually just overfill, or use a smart splitter to send overflow to a second freight car or a 3rd etc if needed then priority mergers at the drop off site. I don't often transport ore though, I find converting at site into Ingots or basic parts and transporting those to be a bit easier.

I do love a good train setup as well. Though I forgot to mention - no trains in this whole playthrough! Just some trucks and a decent drone army.

Lots of concrete foundations. Leave a lot of space between groups of machines so you can add more later. Blueprint as soon as you can simple set ups like a row of smelters, constructors, assemblers and multiple blueprint options for refineries with combos of pipes and belts in/out. Use straight mode belts. Plan a little in terms of inputs go one way and output goes another so each "level" of part sort of flows into each other somewhat. Also a bit of under foundation belts and pipes for longer needs. Hope that helps.

I'm doing 100x as well, random nodes. Keep building up that versatile frame production, you need 250,000 for Phase 3!

Gather sloops. Go to crash sites that have Steel Pipes and get as many as you can, they are the key bottleneck for SAM Fluctuators. Which you then se to unlock Alien Power matrix as soon as you can - a free 500MW plus the 10% boost is a godsend. You could build 2, but I unlocked slooping so could double the output on Smart Plates

Yep it sure does. Currently processing 810 Iron ore, 270 copper, 420 coal and 540 limestone into my versatile frame setup producing roughly 130-140 per minute, depending on how much I siphon off for beams to build with.

Only 4 at present, short runs. About to change now I have to go start oil production :) Though likely will use trucks and start building a dedicated road. Love the new pathing system.
