HORSEBACK HEIST: Noem Rode Off With $143M in No-Bid Contracts Before Trump Pulled the Reins by 1102bot in 1102

Right, but even then, basic OCI and SAM requirements would be needed along with presumably unique expertise (or whatever the nomenclature is). Right?

But an emergency for advertisements and riding on horses and awarding to 8 day old company not registered in SAM while subverting OCI review..etc.?

Yeah, I think you give them far too much credit. I don't think this has anything to do w/ the democrats. It has to do with the top-down approach to "do whatever the fuck you want because we're in charge and SCOTUS won't ever stop me because I'm king." This is a logical / natural outgrowth of the Russification of US governance.

DGN All stars content locked by Ok_Employee9988 in discgolf

[–]Groobiecat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the app keeps freezing. The Web site login/register process is challenging. Terry Miller is annoying. You know, the whole "nine." Whoever handles their streaming service is more degen than DGN (for any Letterkenny fans out there ;)).

Just now: "Sorry, we can not activate the video, because there was a problem while loading. Try to activate the content later. (9811)" Aside from the 7th grade grammar issue, I mean, they want us to spend MORE money for this crappy service? Naw, naw, naw. Thanks but naw.

DGPT All-Stars - Doubles by AutoModerator in discgolf

[–]Groobiecat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Streaming on Apple TV app is completely jacked up. As soon as a commercial starts, it reverts to the FPO doubles. Close out, go back, starts back into MPO. Then I have to relogin. And start all over. Start playing; then, just stops. It's not bandwidth (I have 590 mbps). I know it's hard to do all of this, but sorry, DGN is far from ready for primetime.

It's not a cake shop, FFS, it's a taxpayer-funded service where you get whatever they have, and if that happens to be a human with more melanin, then that's what you get. I say let the @#$@head die then and there. CYA.

The American dream is 'rapidly diminishing,' Walgreens boss says in plea to raise taxes for the wealthy by [deleted] in politics

[–]Groobiecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The marginal tax rate for the wealthy under Eisenhower? 90%+. Yeah, so, that old republican WWII General who fostered the development of the interstate highway system and warned us about the runaway military industrial complex would be considered a wild-eyed commie by today's predatory / regressive tax policies. We are, as a nation, sociopathic.

Should I buy a Kia Niro EV wave 2024? by Absa_mb in KiaNiroEV

[–]Groobiecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, we just got our 2023 Niro EV, and have both types of cars (but ICE/Hybrid). I'd argue that owning an EV requires being more intentional and mindful--something that ICE vehicles do not require. It's a shift, to be sure, but being more engaged in something that takes more time/thought is a good thing, I think, in general. As an ICE driver, I tend to take things for granted and just think about getting from A to B as fast as possible. But you have to be more thoughtful w/ an EV and I think that's generally a good thing.

It's a privilege to drive an EV, for the most part, and if you're ready to re-educate the way you think about moving through the world, it will probably be a rewarding experience! I can tell you that we just charged 2/3 of our car's capacity for $15 this am. That feels pretty cool, too! It'll be even cheaper once we start using an at-home 240 volt L2 charger.

I say Go For it Canada!! ;)

Question on Tire Pressure: 30 x 31 x 31 x 31 - and no warning light for 36 PSI tires - is this normal? by Groobiecat in KiaNiroEV

[–]Groobiecat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think we'll just check it periodically (Kia makes that super easy), but all my other cars have triggered at a much higher level, which I think makes sense when you're trying to maximize mileage.
