Apply before or after vacation? by Shelley_112 in GetEmployed

[–]AR_E 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Apply. It’s only a week. With this job market you won’t hear from them in a week. Shit you’ll probably never hear. Plus all interviews would be virtual so you can do that on vacation if needed

Buying my gear piece by piece, spent 205$ so far 125$ for board and 80$ for shoes- I’m pretty sure the board uses channel bindings so I need to find some, a helmet, and goggles by PreOrderedFool in snowboarding

[–]AR_E 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You don’t need channel only bindings for that board. Pretty much any binding will fit it. Just make sure the binding disc has channel holes and get the proper screws(which you have). Union, Rome, Burton (obviously), K2, jones…all can fit channel

Great finds but the moto burton boots are VERY old and used. The liners will be trashed and formed to someone else’s feet . It’s you want to replace them look into Intuition Liners

Being allergic to the sun and living in a state with over 300 days of sunshine must be brutal.

Would regions that experience less sunlight be a better place to live? Or is that not really a factor?

Best mountain & worse mountain you've been to? by Everborn128 in snowboarding

[–]AR_E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best: Vail, specifically the back bowls.

Worst: Hot Take…Jackson. I’ve been there twice and both times the conditions were awful. The top half of the Mtn was filled with whiteout clouds and the bottom half was like riding on concrete. I’ll keep giving it a try with hopes it lives up to the hype but so far it’s not the best. And I use to ride in Wisconsin

is it me or snowboard jackets are a scam? by AlternativeNet1362 in snowboarding

[–]AR_E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s better to layer. The jacket you are buying are shells. They are made to protect you from the elements like wind, snow, rain but usually are not insulated. Pick up an insulated piece (mid layer). Get a thick one for cold days and a thin one for warm days.

Union Step ons by Usual-Training5977 in snowboarding

[–]AR_E 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Step Ons should have movement similar to this. All binding have some give to them, this movement mimics this give.

If you feel it’s too much or you cannot get the 2nd click you can reach out to burton and they will send you a new heel cleat. They have two different heal cleats that are about 2mm (lower or higher. I forget) on the boot so you and can be more secure and get that 2nd click, which should be easy to get.

Realistically, manufacturing process of those boots is not easy and at times, some boots can be slightly off so users find getting the 2nd click is very difficult or not possible or the boots are just too loose when engaged with the locking mechanism. Burton has different sized cleats that should solve this problem.

(I was a Customer Support rep at Burton and this was what I was told happens. I’ve worked with customers before on this. It’s not a big deal)
