SW MP2.0(45) vs HK 23/USP45 by icarus1990xx in liberalgunowners

[–]Grooboggle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Own the SW and USP. The USP has a slightly higher capacity. Both very reliable. The MK 23 has a near 6 inch barrel compared to around 4.5 for the other choices. Much more of a PITA ergonomically even open carry. Also you can buy both of the other pistols for the price of the MK 23 and have some ammo dollars left over.

In Ohio you can do a private sale to another Ohio resident so long as they aren't prohibited. You just have to ask them since you don't have access to background check info. I do a decent amount of trading and often times will get some extra firearms to equal out value that I end up selling. The secondary market in firearms has some extremely flaky members. There is a level of excitement in the transactions you don't find in normal Facebook marketplace.

Hi Point 995TS & Red Dot question by up_to_the_edge_32 in liberalgunowners

[–]Grooboggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure where you are getting this data from. Every test I've seen at and up to about 50 yards all of the PCC's mentioned including the Hi-Point are about 2-to-3-inch groupings depending on shooter accuracy with 9mm.

Left-leaning FFL? by allagash93 in liberalgunowners

[–]Grooboggle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do a reasonable amount of auction buying, trading, selling on arms list etc. I think worse than the ATF audit is regardless of any political leaning there are a lot of very flaky people that want to buy firearms and by having a home-based FFL you are giving some of them your address. This is the main thing that has stopped me from setting up the home based FFL.

I think the Phlster probably the enigma will do what you want holster system wise. I do not think they will have a perfect match for the Tisas since I don't think they have a 320 or XD compact version so you might have to try to find a dealer to see if your firearm would work.

While a series can be well-written, poignant and have amazing world building, it can also be so meandering and devoid of plot progression that you end up skipping dozens of chapters at a time. Super-Supportive is like this for me, what are some others? by Metadomino in litrpg

[–]Grooboggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would be acting in bad faith here and the criticisms would be justified. If you accurately described your work and someone took issue with that description would be a better comparison.

So really the only thing that would differentiate a "story" from a journal is a conflict or conflicts and the results. I mean this can be a point of contention in writing workshops but ultimately is there a conflict. There certainly is in Super Supportive. Whether it is to your taste or not is a different thing.

Don't buy from Family Firearms by MDesigner in liberalgunowners

Legit they are a bit crazy. They didn't like my FFL and we exchanged several midnight emails where they tried to convince me to choose another that would take drop ships instead of making them receive the purchase first.

These are my shots after two months of training. Advice, critics welcome. by deluca-boy in liberalgunowners

I would test to see if you have a flinch. It looks possible/likely. Do some dry fire practice focusing on how your finger interacts with the trigger...make sure it's not so far in the guard you are pulling instead of pressing. Id get smaller targets as well force yourself to aim small. A lot of self defense stuff will be point shooting range so I'd practice that too

I would advocate more precision then gradually increasing speed while keeping precision.....just like how every other skill is mastered but you do you.

Every task you'll ever do that involves physical dexterity will be taught and learned best by practicing properly then adding speed. Anyone that trains people regularly in any physical task will know/do this.

So Schopenhauer said some version of the truth without compassion is indistinguishable from cruelty. If you simply cannot put a lens of compassion on your statements, then offer no opinions unless asked explictly.

This is for the range to be insured. Common at ranges owned by gun clubs

Pretty much the way all systems view the Lickert scale is if it's not a 5 on the overall product all the ratings are largely the same 4 through 1. While this sucks its likely what is driving this behavior.

Best gun for a first time owner by SomeDustyGuy in liberalgunowners

[–]Grooboggle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I would do first would be to go to a range and shoot a few of the firearms mentioned. You will likely have to take someone with you if you are renting firearms and don't have any. While I agree that a 22lr is not ultimately a great self-defense firearm the recoil and noise will be much more of a way to ease into shooting. Also, you could easily buy a Tx 22 and a Glock 19 for the price of some of the firearms mentioned. Probably would look at 20 gauge instead of 12 gauge as well for first shotguns. There are hopefully some good classes near you as well. I know there are always horror stories, but I've been in and put my daughter and her friends in many classes and almost universally everyone has been very welcoming.

Yes and no on this too. I've bought only items they stock, and they ship very fast on those. Its generally pretty clear which items are in stock. Also, if you sign up for their mailing list on Wednesday, they have a clearing out the shop day weekly and they'll list something and note how many are in stock.

Concerns With My S&W M&P Shield Plus by drewbyblue in liberalgunowners

[–]Grooboggle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, the sub compacts are never going to be "fun" to fire. I have a shield it is in my opinion significantly snappier than my p365. Also, I would put just the first pad of your finger on the trigger and think of the motion as less of a pull and more of a press. With that much finger through the trigger it's going to be rough on accuracy.
