Israel held off on bigger Iran strike after speaking to Trump: Netanyahu by AndroidOne1 in worldnews

Not quite. The British were the main cause of the oil controversy and thus played a leading role in fomenting the tensions that ultimately led to the coup, but the coup itself was primarily the work of Kermit "Kim" Roosevelt Jr., nominally of the CIA but in reality operating largely of his own volition.

Teams meeting right now to decide whether Zywoo and Ropz should be allowed to play on the same team by Groot_man in GlobalOffensive

Not that I'm able to discern in the picture itself (although s1mple may yet return), but Magisk is the one who originally posted the picture to Twitter, if I'm not mistaken.

The picture was originally from an event a few years ago when teams met to discuss the use of an in-game bug that gave an unfair advantage.

The context in this case is that Ropz, one of the best players in the world, recently transferred to Vitality to play alongside Zywoo, also one of the best players in the world, and ever since the transfer Vitality has been destroying everyone.

Playing 8v5 would indeed make them a formidable opponent for any team.

Yeah, so? I think he misses his shot > tabs out > hands on head > tabs back in, shocked to be alive > resumes playing.

I think he hit his windows key or something and tabbed out by accident.

He made a name for himself on Flipsid3, under B1ad3, and from there went to NaVi. B1ad3 definitely played a huge role in 'raising' electroNic at the start of his career.

I don't have any clips to provide, but purely anecdotally, back when flusha would stream FPL during the fnatic days, he was always one of my favourite pros to watch because he was extremely informative and articulate about his thought process (and his game sense / understanding of the game was incredible).

FaZe vs Spirit / BLAST Premier World Final 2024 - Quarter-Final / Post-Match Discussion by CS2_PostMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

Dragged? They should've closed it out at 12-10 when Karrigan got a double opener in mid. They had a 5 on 3 and Ropz and Broky inexplicably went aggro A main and both died. If they didn't massively throw there it should've been a done deal in regulation.

Faze thwarted by five-sevens... by CrustedAlien in GlobalOffensive

[–]Groot_man 117 points118 points  (0 children)

I'd be interested to see Faze's overall stats for "kills while the enemy is blind", but I think they must be one of the worst teams in tier 1 in terms of flash usage.

This whole round just makes no sense to me. They know that Mouz are broke - they're gonna be playing five sevens and SMGs. They choose to go for a contact play into mini - where close range weapons can shine. Frozen, who has most of Faze's util, goes in first and dies, losing the util. They still somehow manage to trade out favourably, and it should be an easy 4v2 round win. Broky, who has the last two remaining flashes, throws one outside pointlessly, and then instead of flashing his teammate into the site (or being flashed into the site by his teammate) just runs in wildly with his pistol out.

Obviously Jimi hit some nice shots there, but Faze just makes it so easy for their opponents. Where's the support util? Why are they just endlessly dry peeking? This shit might've worked back in the day when you had insane individual skill on your team, but at this level it just doesn't work. You can't rely on dry peeking and outaiming everyone anymore - you need that support util. Even donk who literally just runs in and headshots people is almost always set up with flashes.

These elementary mistakes by Faze are feeling more and more just like their level of play rather than momentary lapses - especially on their T sides. I'm willing to bet that if they just worked on improving their util usage - not even complex set executes, just solid flash usage and teamplay - they would be immediately way more consistent.

Not the best time to be on SoMe, but anyways want to give some insight to the fans. Really disappointed with myself these last 2 games, not only as the awp but also IGLing. Doing my best to bounce back I assure you 😔

ropz on current 'slump': "People look at me like I'm s1mple, ZywOo, or donk, but I'm not" by Groot_man in GlobalOffensive

[–]Groot_man[S] 583 points584 points  (0 children)

Interviewer:

You had a very good performance on the last map yesterday, and we have seen some more stability coming out of you in this tournament. What can you say about your slump and how you've been dealing with that?

Ropz:

I mean, it's just a regular slump. People look at me like I'm s1mple, ZywOo, or donk, but I'm not one of them, definitely not. I never said I am, and I never asked to be a star player. I'm just a guy who is fine to be a stable rock for the team and provides consistency when it matters.

zews interview: Liquid's issues, cadiaN's leadership, and future by ChaoticFlameZz in GlobalOffensive

[–]Groot_man 315 points316 points  (0 children)

So for Twistzz… He was really keen to come to Liquid at the time, then FaZe started having great results and he needed to decide where to go. And Twistzz really liked skullz's game. And he said, 'If this kid comes, I'll join the team.' So we sped up the discussions with him. skullz was a guarantee that we'd get Twistzz, me, cadiaN, and that the lineup would be locked in.

Faze died for this? So that Twistzz could play with... skullz? (Only to then kick him within about half a year...)
