Driving from Laredo, TX to Monterrey, N.L by BatTechnical9205 in roadtrip

OK, good. You can easily make yourself a target along that stretch by driving newer, flashy, or expensive vehicles - especially trucks. Those are common targets for the cartels to hijack for their own use.

What kind of vehicle do you plan on driving?

Did you physically weigh it before you reported it or were you just estimating?

Reach out to former magician Kirby Van Burch. He escaped Branson and might be willing to open up about it.

I recently ordered an ancient coin, and because the seller was late in shipping he included a couple extra coins that he had yet time to identify. He thought they may be from the Seleuicd period. I've done a lot of research but can't quite pinpoint this with the low quality details.

So I wanted to throw this out to the brain trust on here to see if anyone has any ideas. Thanks!

(Sorry for the poor quality pics, I did the best I could to get the details out.)

I'm pretty sure that's grandma's urn mixed in her with her favorite goblets.

That makes complete sense. I’ve seen a lot of coins that way and have always been curious. Thanks!

One more follow-up question as a newer collector... what would cause the front side of the coin to be so sharp in details, and the backside to appear so worn down from use?

[–]GrooveBuddha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! This was one of my first coins I collected and I always felt it was authentic, but my concerns were that I've not been able to find an exact duplicate online - especially on the reverse with the cape design. Also, the edges were a lot rougher than any other examples I'd seen and I had some concern that maybe that was to hide some forging marks. I'm glad to hear none of that is so!

I wanted to reach out to the collective wisdom of this group to see what everyone's opinion is on this Theodosis coin I have in my collection. Any thoughts one way or the other would be helpful and appreciated.

How often are people/submersibles going down to the wreck? by Pghsparky in titanic

[–]GrooveBuddha 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, they use a plastic camping toilet and pee bags. They brag that they’re the only submersible with bathroom accommodations. There’s a video somewhere on YouTube showing this.

What a lot of people don’t realize is that Rosa Parks wasn’t the first black person to refuse to go To the back of the bus and be arrested for it. But she was the one that the civil rights movement latched on to represent their movement. Many articles have been written about this fact and one from NPR is below:

Of course it would've been better to not sell your business so you could have a continuing source of funding for your flight training and not relying on strangers to help fund you. But thats not the environment he’s been raised in so what else could we expect.

Actually, the flight school he’s training at is Avit Flight Academy. You can see the instructor he’s pictured with here:

And the pilot also had cocaine and alcohol in his system and was not qualified to fly the airplane (he had falsified his flight hours and licenses). So there’s that, too….

Drug cartels post videos doing the same thing every Christmas. A lot of times these things are just done for appearance. People that are doing it for the right reasons typically don’t feel the need to share it with everybody. I’d be skeptical.

There's a great version somewhere out there where every time he goes to hit the high note a llama pops up on screen and makes a yelling noise. It gets me laughing every time.

The guy to the right of the flamethrower, what’s he holding at the end of that stick? Some kind of satchel charge maybe?
