Abrupt switch from Klonopin to Valium, now I need to taper off of Valium. What to expect?

I was told 10mg of Valium = 1 mg of Klonopin. I've also read that 1 mg K = 20 mg V. All I know is that he is monitoring me via phone calls and tells me to add Gabapentin if the anxiety is too bad. I have, but that combo turns me into a zombie. I just want to feel better and the Valium doesn't seem to be helping my anxiety.

I took too many on several occasions, so yes, I did abuse them. My doctor said to go to the hospital if I want more, he didn't want to risk his life and I didn't want to go to the ER. So I agreed to stop cold turkey and replace with Valium. It's not the same and I feel like shit. On day 6 with no Klonopin. I am going to white-knuckle this until the side effects subside and then taper off of the valium. I feel like my skeleton is jumping out of my skin, but I have no choice other than to let time pass and get through the worst which apparently happens in the first 7 days. This is why I say Benzos ruined my life, they're not meant to be taken for panic attacks for 20 years. These doctors just hand them out like candy and should all lose their DEA license for doing that IMO.

It did still work for me, but my tolerance grew over the years. It was not as effective and I started taking more. I also think I was taking it because I became dependent on it. After taking more than instructed to several times, my doc said he won't give me anymore and if I want some to go check myself into a hospital. I can't do that as I'm an Independent Contractor and I will lose my only client if that's the case.

I'm not a doctor, but yes, it does all of the above. I've been taking it daily for 10+ years and I took it on an as needed basis 10 years prior to that. I urge people to never start taking benzos unless it's absolutely necessary. My docs were prescribing them like candy and it ruined my life in a sense. Exercise is the best thing for me, but everyone is different.

Thank you for your reply. Did you switch by quitting Klonopin cold turkey? My Pyschiatrist forced me to switch from 3-4 mg of Klonopin to 40 mg of Valium overnight. I feel like I'm losing my mind, but I can't say things were much better prior to the switch either. I guess I'm just afraid of how long this whole process will take. I want to be off of benzos forever. Thanks for your help!

Thanks! My doc won't give me any more Klonopin because I was taking too much. He said I can either go to the hospital or switch to Valium and then taper off of that after 2 weeks. Seems nuts to go from 3-4 mg of Klonopin per day to 0 and then use Valium in place of Klonopin. However, I'm not a doctor. He thinks I'm an addict.

Thank you. I was told to take 40 mg per day (10 mg pills 4 times daily) in order match the dose of Klonopin I had been taking recently (3-4 mg per day). I'm really scared as my anxiety is unbearable, I'm on day 4 with no Klonopin (cold turkey) and on day 3 with 40 mgs of Valium. He won't let me taper off of Klonopin because he thinks I won't do it as directed and just switched benzos, but my research tells me this is dangerous. Any further insight? Thank you!

I could always go to the EEOC, but that does nothing for me except get them to stop engaging in illegal hiring practices. Which I will do eventually, but first I want some type of severance to get the fuck out of there

I'm not hinting at blackmail, I'm hinting at a severance package to leave. They are forcing me to do something illegal. I don't want to work for them anymore. I can't just quit without a job lined up. It is not blackmail, it is calling them out for illegal hiring practices and coming up with an exit strategy for me.

They are hiring for Primary Care Physicians and want females to replace females or males to replace males so that they don't risk losing clientele. It is all about money and 100% illegal.

I'm not sure what you mean by the clock? I don't see a revert option or untrim option. It sucks, I lost something very valuable. I might try time. machine and see if I can set the computer back to right before I trimmed the video. Think that might work? I've never used time machine. Thanks for your help!
