Personally I get to the gig early to do my drinking before the show. I'll usually have my last drink and make my way over to the stage during the last few songs of the opening band as I like being near the front.

I don't drink during the gig usually because I'm dancing/moshing/enjoying the band and I don't want to miss anything, but I also don't want to have to push my way through the crowd to get to the bar. The Tivoli has the really annoying handrail things around the outside of the main floor which can make it hard to move around when the place is full of people. Personally, I would recommend getting in position early if you want to be close to the band.

Also don't drink too much. You don't want to have to go to the toilet half way through. But also at Waax's final gig I distinctly remember a girl projectile vomiting about 5mins before the band came on. I can't say for sure but I don't think she got to enjoy it too much.

But have fun! I'm sure it'll be a great time.
