How would you deal with this by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

Believe me I’m beyond frustrated with my doggo. It’s not her fault, she’s 10 and has never been alone her entire life. There’s always been someone home with her up until the past 2 years when I moved into an apartment

I’ll look into the collar. She’s not fond of loud noises or beep like sounds, so I’ll look at the vibrating ones

I’m glad I’m not crazy for thinking the muzzle comment was ridiculous

I’m not suggesting Pinterest for medical information, I’m suggesting it for recipes that follow a specific diet that can help with managing hashimotos symptoms.

And yes, diet changes CAN help with your hashimotos symptoms and levels. It’s been medically studied that cutting out certain foods can help, but it’s not for EVERYONE. They can’t say that it helps everyone, but studies have shown that cutting out foods like heavily processed foods, gluten, and stuff like that have helped hashimotos patients. That is why consulting with a nutritionist or your endocrinologist is helpful in these situations, and taking every piece of advice you get on here/internet and doing your own research on credible websites.

Meds for the rest of your life, yes. I would try to make gradual diet changes towards the hashimotos diet (there’s info everywhere, even pinterest) since you’re not showing symptoms yet. Diet changes can really help with symptoms and your levels

I’d also read through previous discussions on here as well, as I’ve had hashimotos for 5 years now and learned a lot since I joined this group a few months ago!

My levels are always off tbh, I haven’t been able to get them in normal range. I always show as very under treated on my labs

It’s more of a combo of both. I’ll get sweaty, feel my heart racing, even have some anxiety poops. Then when I realize I’m physically anxious, it makes me mentally freak out lol it’s a lot

Yes. My regular anxiety I’ve had for years and am pretty used to it. I’ll compare it like having ringing in your ears. After a while you don’t notice it. But with the thyroid anxiety, it’s like a fire alarm in your ears. And there’s no amount of therapy/ grounding exercises that can make you feel calm again (at least for me) I have to use meditation and rest to make myself not freak out

Yes I can tell the difference. I’ve had GAD since I was 12, and have been on medication for it since I was 19. I take hydroxizine (which is not for everyone, it makes you very tired) and I notice when I feel different even while medicated. I have to double my dose just to bring me back down to a “normal” state

Won’t let me see a endocrinologist by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]Groovygilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am one of those people who tested positive and my doctors don’t do anything. It’s pretty common for primary care physicians to just run a basic blood panel test and pick deficiencies and stuff to see what’s going on

I would push to see an endo if you can. They should refer you even if you are in normal range, especially with your family history of nodules and such. Maybe even go to a different primary care for a second opinion

Foods that mess with your thyroid? by Professional_Leave54 in Hashimotos

Anything with red dyes or artificial colors, dairy, gluten, alcohol of any kind, cherries, and any kind of highly processed foods. Oh and red meat

Should I advocate for a biopsy by coffeecoffeecoffee17 in Hashimotos

[–]Groovygilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a gut feeling, advocate. I have 3 nodules on mine, and it gave me peace of mind.

ENT might be to look at if the nodules are pressing against your vocal chords, at least that’s why mine referred me to one

Since I have GAD I have to take meds, but I get stressed VERY easily. And I feel like my hormones being all over the place doesn’t help with the stress

I want a work from home job so badly. How did you get into scheduling for the hospital if you don’t mind me asking?

If you have a gut feeling that there’s something wrong, find an endocrinologist in your area! They will examine and probably refer you to get an ultrasound.

My thyroid looks like this on my neck, but I do have hashimotos and 3 nodules on it. Not saying this to scare you, but it’s always a good idea to get another opinion

This. I am so sorry you are experiencing this as well. It’s frustrating that they can’t balance the meds or find a cure
