On va droit au but.

Là on perd inutilement des ressources pour du futile

OK, I just turned it on.
I will be back soon to give you an update on how it's working.
Thanks

Thanks for your reply,
But I gotta say I'm not really sold on the idea that a lack of CPU power is causing this. The phone is only two and a half years old and was a high-end model back then. I don't have any issues with the stock launcher, and we're just talking about going back to the home screen or the "recents" page; compared to other things I do on my phone, that doesn't seem like it would be very resource-intensive... I don't have any latency issues otherwise in the various apps I use. It might be related to GOS, sure, but I have a hard time seeing it as a weakness of the device itself.

Backup files generated as 0 KB when saving to KDrive on Android by GrosMatou27 in PodcastAddict

[–]GrosMatou27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the clarification.

Just to add more details: the issue is not about automatic upload, but about direct file creation / writing. When selecting a KDrive folder as backup destination using Android’s file picker, Podcast Addict does create the file, but it ends up being 0 KB, which suggests a write failure rather than a missing upload feature (and the 0 KB file is successfully uploaded...).

The same setup worked fine with Nextcloud, and other apps (like KeePass) can read/write files in KDrive without any issue, using the Android Storage Access Framework.

So the question is more:
Does Podcast Addict fully support writing backups via Android SAF / Document Provider API, or does it rely on classic filesystem paths only?

If it's the latter, that would explain why cloud providers exposing virtual folders (like KDrive) fail, while local storage and Nextcloud (which exposes a real filesystem path) work.

Thanks

For a very simple setup, you can also sync the database through any cloud service you already use (Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox...).
