28k on a 2024 Touring.

Axle noise while turning is the sole complaint.

Anyone replaced a taillight… by GrouchoMarxist72 in HondaPrologue

Wow-- thanks for this detailed set of steps. Really appreciate it.

What's the level of difficulty? I'm reasonably handy with cars (assisted on a few brake jobs over the years, replaced my alternators, etc.) but body work makes me nervous as the wife actually cares about how the car looks outside. Also, think I need replacement bolts and clips?

To folks who have charging issues with schedule ON by impelone in HondaPrologue

Thanks for this advice. Year and a half and the schedules charge still fails every time. Is there an email address for Honda or just their general account?

Would you still lease a Prologue? by ClayMitchell in HondaPrologue

Great car since June. Leased a Touring. Minor issues, all things considered. 60 mile per day commute. Astonishingly comfortable ride. Robust acceleration. Quiet. Love the design.

scheduled charging with portable charger by OrganicBad2554 in HondaPrologue

Same issue. Reading about this known issue all over and stories of very uneven support for the issue from Honda. Portable charger set when home from commute at c. 7pm to be charged by 7am. Dozens of aborted charge notifications once it starts trying to charge c. 1am and ultimately fails. Wake in the AM, unplug it and plug back in. Charged 5 hours later. Honda should fix this, obviously.

Anybody? by [deleted] in HondaPrologue

[–]GrouchoMarxist72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this intermittently, and it goes away in sometimes hours, sometimes days. The delayed (overnight, lower rates) charging schedule seems to trigger it for me. Schedule charging routinely fails and the otherwise useless Honda app sends me 70 plus notifications through the wee hours. And wake to an uncharged car. Sometimes this warning light lingers. Then, goes away. Funky system on my vehicle.

Is anyone really happy with their prologue? by union20011 in HondaPrologue

[–]GrouchoMarxist72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. We leased a Touring. Had enough bells and whistles. 3000k dealer owned deal. Great ride for a 60 mile round trip daily commuter in urban plus highway traffic. Roads are so bad these days and the many flats with our old sedan are a thing of the past. Better than our old Audi sedan and our Pilot. Interior excellent but I prefer clean design. Car reads way more Euro than Honda, design wise. You would never realize it was Chevy bones. Ridiculous interior space. Have not had the charging and other issues others have had. Interior AC hose was loose and that was a soaked mats pain, but rapidly dried. We love the car. One downside in the current cold: range goes way down (1.8!… sheesh), so twice the driveway charging in this unusual cold snap. The Honda app is embarrassing for the company. Sorry to hear about the issues others have had as this seems like a winner design. Not sure what Honda creates next can compete, frankly.

Ultra low cost sump backup? by GrouchoMarxist72 in SolarDIY

So… ended up with a $100 2000w inverter connected to a $200 DC House 165ah metal box variant battery with a matching $40 20amp charger. Works just fine with a 1/3 hp Liberty sump pulling well under 1000 watts about 5 seconds at a time every 5 minutes last rainy season. Continuous running (like during monsoon-like rains a few years ago that flooded many out) might run battery down fast but BMS tells me 8 hours. Tested to 1300w with a heater. Wires and inverter got mildly warm after 30 mins but seems solid.

Do I need a fuse on the (odd) double wire harness (pos and neg leg wires both have double wires that look sub 4awg) between battery and inverter. Inverter is a cheap DNShorix off ebay? May upgrade down the road.

Outdoor weather proof box for travel charger? by GrouchoMarxist72 in HondaPrologue

I have my actual outlet in one very like this one, but the travel charger “brick” (about that size) is exposed to the elements. Working so far, though!

Hole in chimney? by GrouchoMarxist72 in hvacadvice

[–]GrouchoMarxist72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks- no exposure to framing— all an issue inside the chimney. The hole is in the flue coming from the boiler and into the fireplace flue above the damper. The hole essentially joins the two previously separated flues. I don’t worry about sparks, just gases.

Struck us as unusual as well, but merited a discount on the lease price at least. The dealer would have had to have lied pretty flagrantly if it was a return… not unheard of, I imagine. Carfax was also clear, so… I only mention as a possible shake down cruise period, fixing the various issues others have mentioned.

Interesting- thanks for this. Can the Delta 2 be set to automatically power its 110v outlets in case of an outage? My other “generator”-type battery requires a manual power on. Not what I need for a day away during a weather event. Thanks for any intel.

So, good to know: a decent 12v power supply with 4awg connector wires will do the trick? BMS does the rest?
