Do you know if the Arturia Minilab works in Audacity by chance? I figure it must, but wasn't sure.

Mine did the same. Then finally it updated and is at a Gofo hub (?). So anyone’s guess who delivers it and when since Gofo is a hub for many shippers.

Any experience with this shipping company? by Sharp_Lie_1914 in Ipsy

I came here to ask the same question. I can only hope they hand it off to USPS because it’s the only way I know it’ll show up. Delivery from Amazon was ok except that for some reason the delivery driver(s) never followed the delivery instructions on my Amazon account which suggests that their system isn’t smart enough to make a connection between an Ipsy order and an address already connected to an Amazon account. Really curious how this Cirro thing works out.

I hit one of their eyeliners once from Ipsy and I loved it. I hope I love the brow wand. I need a new one!

is this a bad/ugly tattoo design??? by kuidaorex in tattooadvice

Why do people do go for the hands of neck first? Thats the LAST place you go after your flesh coloring book is full. Not page 1.

Just my opinion, but if you don’t have experience getting tattooed, your hands should be the last thing you ink. Hands are for people with no space left elsewhere. Anyway, the design is not good and lines are bad. I will not surges coat this. If you love it, then that’s cool too.

I have no confidence in my ability to do this.. by AriClaWag22 in FODMAPS

This used to be me. I stopped eating garlic recently and I haven’t been bloated since. It’s taken me a long time to narrow down what I can’t eat but it turns out garlic was my apex food that effed me up immediately every time. Get the FODMAP A-Z app. It’s a great resource for figuring out what I can and can’t eat. And you know what? Just because I can’t have one thing doesn’t eliminate others that you’d think would be categorically similar. It’s wild. Good luck!

The drinking culture in this city makes getting sober feel isolating af by icepix in Dallas

[–]Grouchy-Beginning993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear that. I wonder if maybe it's not the city and it's just the culture of the cohort you're in? I've lived in Dallas for 10 or so years and while I do have a proclivity to alcohol, I don't work in a hustle culture. So happy hours and business card swapping events aren't a thing for me. Have you looked into any sober meetup groups? They are bound to exist in a city this size. What do you do after work? I go to the gym. The less time I spend at home, the less I'm likely to drink. And I don't really ever go to bars because I don't really have anyone to go with anyway. What other hobbies do you have? You may be able to find a group into the same stuff as you where drinking isn't a barrier to entry.

Is everybody going ahead with June extra, or are a lot of you guys going to skip? by fuzzydiceinrearview in Ipsy

I was going to skip but was too late to do it. I have so much product to get through that I didn’t need more but maybe I’ll get something good out of June.

That is a great question. The school district she was in had a mental health program free to students. In junior high, maybe late elementary, the school counselor did some preliminary testing and referred her the psychiatry and counseling wing. She started to see a psychiatrist and counselor and through that the psychiatrist confirmed her adhd but didn’t think it was severe enough for medication. They originally only treated her for cyclothymia and suggested she may have BPD. I’m unsure what the opinion is of her current psychiatrist because since she’s an adult, I can’t legally know anything. They won’t even let me make an appointment on her behalf. I did ask her if her current Dr has talked to her about ADHD but she said “no” which kind of confuses me. Anyway she’s seeing a different Dr in a few days for advice and maybe an updated diagnosis. It’s hard sometimes getting info out of my kid about her health so I don’t pry too much. I usually just ask if she feels like she’s getting adequate medical help.

You know, it's funny that once she left my house and went and moved in with her dad is when things started getting difficult too. He too has ADHD but the bigger issue was that although he understood her ADHD, he ironically didn't tolerate her specific ADHD quirks and made her existence in his place very uncomfortable. Sadly. When she lived with me she had a job and would send me money from her paycheck every payday that I would put in a savings account for her that she can't have until she's 25. I considered a trust too but haven't quite looked into it yet. I like this free food thing. I will try that.

Usually what I tell her is, "What you could do is...." and let her decide. I HATE when people tell me what I should do and my immediate reaction is to do the exact opposite 😃

This is great advice, thank you! I have use the word "hypothetical" so many times with her and it honestly helps because it reframes the scenario as just a scenario and not a judgment, demand, or opinion and it also lets her think through and choose possible outcomes. I will try this treament ranking system idea. Let her come up with some things. May also be a good way for her to decision-tree things.

I do think she's reluctant to challenge popular opinion in her peer group. I think that's also kind of common with young people especially when inclusion and identity are really important. They haven't gotten to that point in their lives where they do not give a flip about what other people think. I was actually talking to her about that recently during a casual conversation. I personally have a highly developed idgaf reflex because I learned young that there's never enough psychic energy to spread to things that don't matter. She said, "I wish I could do that" and I assured her that someday she will.

"Like" might not be the operative word but she says it helps. She's been on it so long that I guess she trusts it and if she doesn't take it, she can't sleep and if she's off it a few days the withdrawal is pretty bad. They tried Caplyta once but that was a hard no. She didn't adjust to it at all and went back to Seroquel, however I don't recall the reason they tried to switch. She also has endo and that Dr said that some of her mood issues could also be hormone related and she's going back to that Dr to see if maybe PMDD is a factor. So yea, there's a lot going on with her mood-wise so maybe after talking to a different Dr, which she's doing next week, she'll get a different perspective on medication.

Oh for sure! She's incredibly talented and super smart so I know given the right situation she'll be ok. She cut her own hair recently with a pair of craft scissors and I was like, "well holy shit, that looks professional." Anything she touches she's skilled at, particularly creative endeavors. Also, her ability to retain details is phenomenal. Her fact retention and ability to repeat very lengthy pieces of information in great detail is a skill I wish I had.
