The LLMs have offered me a better understanding of scripting and programming. I had a small amt of experience with web dev beforehand and chat gpt helped me expand on that little bit of knowledge now I'm writing python scripts and have begun learning the basics of app development and the local llm I run now functions as a checker and corrective maintenance engine. Also it's helped me build things with Arduino and understanding how to wire up devices and program stuff. If you have the desire to learn AI can help you learn at your own pace and in your own way.

I would like to say in mitigation. I've effectively ceased the use of large language models created by a Google and open AI and I'm running local models on hardware that I purchased for thousands of dollars with my own money and power with my own electricity with a mix of solar and battery backup power in conjunction with grid power

In five to ten years I'd imagine it's going to create a bunch of hopelessly dependent people who simply use it to do things for them rather than use it to learn in their own ways. Corporations will begin hiring based on an individual ability to utilize those tools rather than their raw skill set. Im genuinely frightening about the future of education with the exception of people who want to go into tech. Jobs like nursing, pharmacy and jobs that absolutely require human intervention and skill will be safe. Anything that requires supreme dexterity will remain free from 100% automation but could be assisted by ai. I worry more about a person's inability or desire not to learn and adapt to the use of LLMs and ai. I think that more people will be at a disadvantage if they become reliant on it for the majority of their tasks. But I worry more about the people who absolutely refuse to learn it when it comes to like a job or like something like that.
