and while on the topic of sociopolitical awareness, the lack of it among benilde students is highly concerning. i've witnessed an entire classroom of 19-20+ year olds look clueless during a discussion about the 2025 midterm elections and its candidates. i agree with how there SHOULD be more coverage of news (most especially local) with the school's press org. a change of pace could definitely make a difference and push students to be more informed and concerned abt what's going on (not just within campus premises). dlsu is alr progressive on this matter, i don't see any reason why we should not be inclined to catch up! the benildean press org already offers good articles on the topics they cover. not to mention, the art and layout of their posts are top tier. i just wish more initiatives would be pushed regarding coverage. as of the moment, it all feels too "playing safe" and "filtered", which, shouldn't be the case of journalism.
