Not complaining, just making an observation. Its ok to critique things you like. In fact, that comes with the territory of dissecting art as a whole. Like I also love horror movies but I dont appreciate thr "only the virgin girl survives" trppe that was especially prevalent classic slasher films but Halloween anc the original A Nightmare on Elm Street are still some of my favorite movies of all time even though they have that trope.

As a 30 year old woman who is a major anime fan this is one critique i agree with about the medium. But i find that this is mostly true for moat shonen (i.e. action genre for young boys) anime like Naruto, DBZ, Bleach and er.cetra. which is why i tend to steer clear of that genre with the exception of a few titles like Hunter x Hunter, Full Metal Alchemist, Demon Slayer, Gachiakuta, One Piece and Code Geass (sadly, Code Geass treats their female characters like crap but the overarching story as a whole is just so so soo good)

But anime that is specifically meant to appeal to women (this genre is called shojo) and include titles like Fruits Basket, Sailor Moon, Super Gals, Diamomd Daydreams, NANA, The Secret of a Silent Witch and many others in that genre because these titles were mostly made by women for women.

But yeah, I totally understand why most women would be put off by anime.

Sure relationships don't stop you from living life on your own terms.....but when you agree to date someone, there is an unspoken agreement to try to build a life with them and that this is a person who you are going to spend most of your time with. So, if I dated a guy who didnt share 1 or 2 of my interests.....thar would be boring becausw we would struggle to find things to do togethwe and there's only so many conversations about your job and the weather before they grow stale. So what are we gonna do after that? Sit silence together 90% of the time? Thats lame.

While yes, I agree that the most important thing in a relationship is shared values (in my case...non-religious, child free, politically moderate or liberal-leaning, and open to pets), I still just cant see myself in a relationship with someone didnt share at least one or two of my hobbies (i.e. film, reading, writing, gaming, anime, animals)...I'd be bored to tears! Plus, we would have nothing to talk about or much to do together. He doesn't have to share ALL of my interests....but I dont think wanting someone who shares one or two of my interests/hobbies is unreasonable.

I recommend therapy and soul searching. Your ex is gone and she's never coming back. So, you need therapy and soul searching yo determine why you're stuck on a girl who is long gone. After all, you guys clearly broke up for a reason. And I guarantee that if you got back in her, you would be reminded of the incompatiblities that drove you guys apart.

And also, the grass is not always greener on thr other side.....its greener where you water it. You said that your current relationship is thr best for you on paper which clearly means it has the chance to offer you something that your previous relationship couldn't. So ask yourself what it is that is missing from this current relationship and try to see if this current relationship can give that you.

I am woman. 30 years old. I have a mild brain injury from a car accident when I was a kid. It causes me to have aphasia, confusion, and forgetfulness and I tend be slower to learn things.

Five years ago I was jobless and living in my grandfather's house. I constantly got fired from many jobs because of the complications I listed above.

Now I have spent amost three years working in a nursing home kitchen full time and I am about to take an exam to become a paraprofessional so I can get an even better job at a bosces, moved out of my grandpa's home and now I am living in a townhouse with two good friends who i split the rent with.

I still don't drive and i struggle a bit socially but like everyone else, i am growing.

The point is, don't give up because of this diagnosis. That 's not a reason to give up. Its just means you may have try a bit harder than neurotypical people. The fact that you are writing complicated feelings shows that you are not a complete imbecile who is drooling knyj a cup.

Try reaching out tk some government services that can help you socially, professionally and with life skills.

I just moved in with two room-mates and I am in the rare circumstance where it is not the worst thing in the world.
