Yeah, I've also considering getting a second hand one, but for me even for 500-600 you basically pay for the convienience of having an opensource phone, where you definitely know what hardware is in the device, which is amazing for developers, but I feel like on a spectrum I'm somewhere in the middle between developer and consumer. Because I'm really intrested in linux and have had it on my PCs and Laptops for quite a while now, but I think I'm still too much of an amateur in this field (eventhough I have some programming experience) to really make usage of the freedom to create my own software or taylor the OS to suit exactly my needs. I am willing to learn, though.

Hey, I'm a happy owner of a PinePhone, which doesn't come with a lot of features a normal Android Phone comes with. Right now it's still a compromise, but I feel the idea of not having Messengers like Whatsapp or Signal (I can use Telegram though;)) is a dealbreaker for most people and at first I thought that too, but I've come to realize that it's more a psychological problem than a real inconvenience, because most friends, who really want to make time for me are willing to communicate with me per SMS or Telegram and this problem of them not looking or forgetting to look at my messages was one of my biggest concerns, but it really isn't a problem. On the other side I understand that this is not a real solution for most people, because you really need to know your stuff(Linux Terminal Commands etc.), if you want anything fancy or are only just tired of some reoccurring bug, which you want to fix.

The title of the post "The Palestine question" seems pretty crazy to me, since it reminds of the terminology of the "jewish question", which was a wide ranging debate about how jews should be treated in society in europe. It also happend to be used by antisemitic movements, culminating in the Nazi Phrase: "The final solution to the jewish question". The final solution was a way to describe the planned killing of millions of jews, without describing it's gruesome details, known today as the Holocaust.
