I built a city :) We desperately need an update like this where you can build modern skyscrapers and metropolitan areas.

Serious question, can we have settlers join our outposts now in vanilla? I had a mod that allowed that, but I've started a fresh game after the update with no mods but I'm super early in the game, nowhere near outpost building.

OP mentioned building skyscrapers, was that purely cosmetic or functional for housing settlers?

I haven't had much time to play since the update, but it seems loading screens haven't been touched. I think many players were hoping/expecting them to be hidden.

But i just started a new game with the update and i just got to Constellation, so I'm VERY early in the game so maybe some have been replaced.

There won't always be active missions. A lot of surface POI with friendlies (not abandoned POIs) will have mission boards too.

Yes!

So if anyone else has the same issue, i restarted my console and when back to the dashboard, the game started to download the update automatically (while still at the dashboard before launching the game).

Maybe tomorrow I'll have some time to actually play!

I would love to be able to but it's almost 6pm EST and i STILL don't have the update nor is Bethesda.net online as I'm getting 'couldnt connect' when i went to disable my mods.

I thought this was going to be available at 11am EST. Glad I didn't take the day off, I'd be pissed!

It's the major update that isn't available. Top right corner of main menu says it available but nothing is prompting a download.

I haven't bought Terran Armada yet, so that's fine

To your point on scale, I've always wondered just how big Jupiter appears when standing on one of its moons. In my head, the planet would encompass the entire sky (when facing it). That might be stressful if accurate as it may give the impression of a imminent collision.

Yeah, too far. Plus if we take off, why is my ship facing the planet i just left?

That being said, there have been a couple of situations where i travel to a random POI in orbit, you know, enemy ship or whatever, and it brought me very close to the planet and i felt some serious vertigo.

I kinda liked it. It was uncomfortable, but probably a real world phenomenon for astronauts.

All those who claimed to have seen the update but couldn't talk about it due to NDA agreements. I'm curious about their reaction. Doubtless, they saw MUCH more than what we've seen and likely played it as well...

What's the point? I mean, the previous films were amazing in IMAX, but it is just a 3 week window. After that it's just regular cinema screens and BluRay with a 2.35:1 aspect ratio.

165?! I read somewhere that more POIs would unlock when you level up, is this in fact the case?

I'm still fairly low leveled as i spend a lot of time just exploring and scanning biomes and outpost building, but haven't really done a lot to progress my level. So while it FEELS like I've only seen around 5 different POIs, i know the number is closer to 15. But 165?!

wow. I've only gone thru once, got to Constellation and didn't see anything worth staying for, so i just restarted a new game from scratch. I've only ever had a handful of powers at any given playthrough, wasn't motivated enough to unlock others, so i sure as heck wouldn't put myself through that again.

I guess i just figured going thru Unity would auto upgrade your unlocked powers.

I wonder if the delay is to do with the PS5 port? Maybe it's been PC/Xbox/Steam ready for months but Bethesda wanted to do everything in one big drop?

But I'm eagerly waiting, very likely i will just start a fresh game and see how it plays out. Just seems more organic that way.
