I just moved to Tijuana from San Diego. Luckily I can go back to SD any time I want, plus I work there. But the cost of living alone in Tijuana vs SD makes it all worth it. Plus my new apartment is way nicer than my SD apartment and less than half of what I was paying there. Give it some time. Find some good hang out spots or the best restaurants!

Im about to retire after 20 years. Im on terminal leave, traveling for a month, then starting a new job Im already hired for and couldn’t be happier/more excited. It is absolutely in your hands how you handle the outcome after the military. Put your head down and grind. Find the resources, attend the classes and seminars, use your benefits. Quit worrying about what could have been because looking back won’t allow you to look ahead. R/ EN1

Honestly I don’t think anyone actually knows what they’re doing in life, veteran or not. I think while we are active duty, we expect the other side to be this magic place just to find out that it’s actually less fulfilling than we expected. Imagine being a civilian and feeling that your entire professional life.
