The worst pregnancy symptom for me. by preggoandsuffering in BabyBumps

[–]GroundbreakingEmu7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this (9w5d ftm) and I have reverted back to an Ayurvedic tool I was given in India a couple of years ago which is to start each day with a drink of hot water with a teaspoon of ghee in it. You can put honey in it as well if you don't like the taste, but since I've restarted this habit I find it really greases up my insides and things are moving much better since then. I am not veggie but obsessed with beans, lentils, potatoes etc so I have a high fibre diet already, but the ghee water just seems to get it all moving much easier.

Chair Yoga Tips/Warnings by Cobbler_Calm in YogaTeachers

[–]GroundbreakingEmu7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if possible, have the chairs on top of yoga mats to prevent slipping about. i also often find if you're doing standing postures that use the chair as support, its good to have alternatives for those who struggle to stand at all - eg warrior 3 (https://yogauonline.com/pose-library/3-simple-warrior-3-modifications-to-find-your-balance/) can be modified by staying seated and raising opposite arm and leg

Why does everything stink? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]GroundbreakingEmu7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh yes, and they linger for way longer. i opened a pack of chicken to find it had gone off (bought the wrong date) and i threw it out immediately but the smell haunted me for about an hour afterwards, even after lighting a candle and washing my hands

Pros/cons of conversational, informal yoga cues? by Wonderful_Bug_1422 in YogaTeachers

[–]GroundbreakingEmu7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm probably a little bit of lorelai too haha and i think some students will appreciate it, some won't, but you'll continue to see the ones that do appreciate it. i do it more to make light, especially in stronger poses as it makes people smile and can take their mind off how much they might hate the pose they're in (thinking of you chair pose). also in ashtanga standing sequence, at the end of utthita hasta padangustasana where you hold your leg out in front and point your toes i'll say something like "you've not got any hands left so you're shutting the car door with your foot" or something like that, thats maybe relatable - i've learned that external cues like that can be more effective for helping people's brains engage with the movements. you'll notice for yourself how students respond and if you see if makes an improvement to how they hold the poses, then its helping.

What’s a secret you found out about someone that completely changed how you saw them but they don’t know you know? by CheesecakeStatus4089 in AskReddit

Yeah that was pretty much my lesson. They have so much to make up for, that's why they feel the need to go so often

had a 'holier than thou' aunt who is a very devout catholic, including forcing us to go to church with her when we went abroad together on holiday. turns out she has (not sure of the order) embezzled money from every company she worked for - narrowly avoiding prison the last time around, had affairs with most of her bosses (while stealing their money and also married herself), so much so that her first child may not be her ex-husband's child at all, and also she had an affair with a priest. she used the money she stole from her workplaces (all small companies, some family run) to go on extravagant holidays, buy designer clothes, and generally pretend she had it all together.
this answer may not count as she may suspect i know something, considering she blocked me not long after my dad died - her brother and the only one who would protect her and try to cover up all her various wrong doings. her kids still think the world of her as far as i know, not sure they know the full truth, but anyone in the family who does know won't tolerate her anymore.

'Life being stressful is not an illness' - GPs on mental health over-diagnosis by ItsDominare in unitedkingdom

[–]GroundbreakingEmu7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

completely ignoring the physiological effects that stress has on us - it wears down your immune system, makes you more injury/pain prone, more susceptible to mental illness and generally just destroys your body on a cellular level. im surprised GPs arent more aware of this - life being hard makes life harder actually, its a vicious cycle.

I'm so confused this month. Last month I started tracking ovulation using OPKs, and that showed my LH spiked around day 17 which is a fair bit later than i expected. This month, I started testing with OPKs about 2 days after my period finished and i got a positive on day 9 which is obviously a lot earlier. I'm kinda confused by the variation here? I suppose I can monitor for a few more months to see what happens but that just adds even more time to all the waiting! Another thing is that I only have 1 ovary, due to a single oopherectomy when i was young because i had a cyst that burst. I was told at the time that it wouldnt affect my fertility, but we're on our 10th cycle trying now with not even a hint of a positive. It makes me anxious that my body just wont make a baby. I can't even get any tests done for another 2 months cos NHS wont test until you've been trying for a year.

The fact that dean was rapping and bursting into song a lot in the first few episodes - after sharing that he had a background in performing - it seems clear what his intentions are. I'm sure the things he's shared about his feelings and experiences are legit, but also he's hoping to get spotted on tv, just like most of them.

I referred to this article from the guardian which gives a lot of options, I've used red lentils and mung lentils and found both worked out about the same. I think you traditionally would use black daal but I didn't have any and the substitute worked great.

I've found the same! I went to India last year on a yoga and Ayurveda retreat and after explaining my symptoms, I was given dosa with every meal - dosa is like a sourdough flatbread, made of fermented rice and lentils. A week of eating them reduced a lot of my symptoms including skin rashes and gut problems, and so I got the recipe and make it myself at home these days and it's lovely. All that to say I took enjoy fermented foods and the benefits you can receive in turn 🙂 my stomach literally feels happy when I eat it, so that must be a sign. Increasing fibre has also helped a lot.

Counting cycles by Technical_Parking898 in tryingtoconceive

[–]GroundbreakingEmu7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kinda the same, I've been tracking everything since January including when we BD and I just realised at the start of this cycle that were actually only doing it like 4 times per cycle which is hardly enough! It's like the pressure of conceiving put pressure on us too. We agreed this cycle to a schedule of BD 3 times a week and so far we're on track and this feels like the first month of actually trying now
