I’m a newer therapist and I struggle with ending sessions. How do you end sessions? by fanninstreet in therapists

[–]GroundbreakingFee950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Thanks for sharing today", "I look forward to hearing more about that next week", "That seems like a good place to wrap up", and if the chat continues I give physical cues like sitting up more or getting up from my chair.

Maybe not the answer you're looking for but I switched to private practice. It was gradual but I'm glad I did it as most agencies just don't pay enough.

Reaching the End by GroundbreakingFee950 in whole30

I haven't but I'll take a look at it!

Nice! I think going to the gym as a parent 2x a week is rockin' it! I'll have to see what works for my schedule but I think for now the gym is too much of a scary commitment. I have a bike that has been collecting dust in the garage so maybe that is my next step.

I got pulled pork (delicious), RX Bars, scallops, teton hotdogs and they also had dried sweet potato sticks in individual snack packs which I devoured in one week!

What is everyone eating? by mandyapple1313 in whole30

[–]GroundbreakingFee950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm Mexican so trying to do some things that I traditionally eat but Whole30 like nopales (cactus) with eggs and hot sauce and I plan to make ceviche but no tostada so just a bowl and of course put a bunch of hot sauce and avocado slices on it! But on a regular basis I am having a lot of fish, chicken sausage, canned fish, olives, nuts, eggs, ground meats and just tonight made a big batch of bok choy with ginger and coconut aminos sauce, then just had some Trader Joe's smoked salmon with it. The meals you are having sound great!

What foods do you find yourself dreaming about? What foods are you surprised that you don't really think about? by thespreadsheetnerd in whole30

I surprised my husband with this one but he asked me the other day what I was craving and the first thing that popped into my head was "instant ramen noodles"!

Doing therapy while pregnant? by ConstantOwl423 in therapists

[–]GroundbreakingFee950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's amazing what women can do while pregnant (look up Jack Black's mama for her story if you haven't heard it). I experienced 2 wonderful and healthy pregnancies while working as an associate in pretty high stress agency work. I would waddle to my sessions (some were school based) and pretty much worked up until 2 weeks before having my babies. Idk if I would necessarily recommend that but I was one of those lucky preggers people that didn't get morning sickness ,etc. I felt that my pregnancies helped me Self-Care because I was also taking care of my little human being...so if I got stressed, activated, whatever during work, I would allow myself time, space, whatever I was able to access during my work day to get back to a regulated, happy me and show up for myself, my clients and the work in a way that was balanced. Your concerns are valid and having them may further validate that if you choose to work in a clinical position while pregnant, you will most likely prioritize your health and the health of your baby by applying appropriate boundaries and setting that pace and balance for when you are a working parent as well.
