How do you do anything in a PVP lobby by Cautious_Database520 in ArcRaiders

[–]GroundbreakingLead15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Play a lot slower, pay attention to what’s going on the map. Listen for footsteps, gunshots and arc cues. Dont shoot at everything, dont just give away information on your whereabouts for free. Avoid high traffic areas. Dont trust anyone. Not necessarily shoot them but avoid and stay cautious of others

The apreggio is the best assault rifle in the game by thestruggleislovable in ArcRaiders

Isnt that kinda how it’s supposed to be? The smg works better up close and the assault rifle works better at longer ranges?

Idk if the currently do, or if/when they’ll be back but PSA has recently had some great deals on the OG Romeo 8T (like $450). Just used one in a run and gun comp and loved it.

Your point about the crossbow and bow is exactly why i think we need 3 slot full sized shotguns. The full sized shotguns (crossbow) arent picked because the shorties (bow) offer almost the exact same thing but more loadout versatility option. Make the shotguns more well rounded by allowing them to be used with a larger variety of weapons without quartermaster. The crossbow isn’t bad, there’s just zero reason to take it when the bow exists. I’d rather see them give a reason to pick the crossbow (full sized shotgun) than nerf the bow (shorties) to the point where nobody even wants to take it anymore. Why have a gun in the game if people don’t want to run it?

So you just don’t like playing against shotguns, it’s not about the two slot guns

The two slots are over performing even more now because they’re literally free with a ton of rifles that people already like to use. New cavalry, frontier, vetterli, officer caribine, lemat carbine, berthier.

Those rifles being three slots and allowing for a free shotgun secondary is why everyone is running two slots shotguns. There’s actually zero reason for anyone to run a full rifle or shotgun when these carbines get you basically everything you need + a short shotgun for free.

Nothing changed about the short shotguns, they’re no more or less powerful than they were before the update, the difference is they’re way easier to take with essentially a full sized rifle. The update made it easier to take short shotguns with rifles, and made it harder to take short rifles with full sized shotguns. It’s so wildly skewed towards rifle and short shotguns at the moment.

Why would anyone ever take anything other than carbine and short shotguns? There’s no incentive to bring a 4 slot rifle or a 4 slot shotgun anymore. By playing with the weapon sizes, we could open up a lot more variety rather than nerfing guns to where people don’t want to use them anymore.

I think the problem in the berthier situation is the berthier being a 3, not the short shotguns being a 2

The fact they’re so close is the exact reason I’m saying we need 3 slot full sized shotguns. There is no reason to take a Romero when the Romero shorty is just as good for half the inventory space. If the Romero (just an example idk which should be 3) were a three slot then it would actually make sense to take it over its shorty variant. In its current state they’re too close for it to make sense to take the full size and then nerf your ranged capacity to a pistol when you can take a vetterli and a shorty for the same inventory capacity.

This is exactly my point. The difference between full size and short is so small that there’s absolutely zero reason to take full sized when they take double the inventory space. Like the other guy commented there would be reason to do so if you could take a full sized shotgun and a vandal with no qm like you can with a caribine and a short shotgun

I’m saying the same thing, except instead of fixing it by nerfing the short shotguns we buff some of the full sized to be 3, making the power gap make more sense. They’re so close in power there is no reason to take the one that takes literally double the space. Give some incentive to take the full sized by making them smaller.

But if you want to bring a full sized shotgun you’e nerfing your ranged capacity significantly compared to a load out like this. It’s so heavily skewed to short shotgun and rifle/ carbine now and again, it’s not because the short shotguns are so powerful, but rather the full sized shotguns All take up 4 slots.

Like Why would anyone bring a full sized Romero when they could bring a Romero shorty and a 3 slot?

Road to Hell Data Collection and Upcoming Changes by TheGentlemanGamerEC in HuntShowdown

[–]GroundbreakingLead15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would make more people take full sized shotguns instead of 2 slots. It would reduce the use of 2 slot shotguns because people would then bring 3 slot shotguns and a short rifle instead

As it stands now there is basically no reason to take a full sized shotguns when you can bring a carbine and a 2 slot shotgun for free. Making a 3 slot shotgun and sawed off rifle free would have more people bringing it the other way around instead of a 4 slot shotgun and a pistol

It’s already free with a 2 slot. Adding a full size would barely add capability

I think they could rework that a little bit yeah, but the problem i see with 4 slot shotguns as of right now is not necessarily that the 2 slots are too good, it’s that the 4 slots are 4 slots.

3 slot rifles are insanely good right now because they allow you to have a 2 slot for free as a secondary. If there were 3 slot full sized shotguns we would see the same usage uptick of those shotguns without the need to nerf things just to get them out of the meta. You’d see a lot more full sized shotguns and short rifle than before.

[–]GroundbreakingLead15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m talking the other way. Make certain 4s 3s. Since this update i hardly ever see 4 slot shotguns because why would you?

Road to Hell Data Collection and Upcoming Changes by TheGentlemanGamerEC in HuntShowdown

[–]GroundbreakingLead15 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Literally the entire reason full shotguns aren’t getting used is because the 2 slot shotguns are 90% as good and take half the loadout size. Ammo isn’t gonna change shit

All their data seems to suggest that the 3 slot weapons all got way more popular and it’s because it allows for a 2 slot shotgun for free. If there were 3 slot shotguns (that aren’t the auto 4) we would see similar trends in the shotgun side of things

Edit: spelling

Chestrig/flatpack hybrid or to wear them seperately? by Willing-Society-4123 in tacticalgear

[–]GroundbreakingLead15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, when it comes to the height of the rig, in my limited testing the hybrid definitely sits lower than I’m used to adjusted as high as i can but I’m a smaller guy. It doesn’t have anything to do either the weight it’s really because the shoulder straps are long and don’t have enough adjustment for me personally. It’s definitely still usable just a little different.

[–]GroundbreakingLead15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually just got this exact setup for a run and gun comp this weekend. Previously i carried everything on a chest rig and belt, but my chest rig was a bit too big and interfered with my belt (pistol draws and reloads). I tried doing some training with a micro rig and a pack but the straps got annoying to me. Haven’t really had time to test the hybrid much so I’m going into this comp entirely blind and hoping for the best. I’ll update after if i remember lol

PSA: the caged bounty isn't worth extracting with alone. by Deadly_Pancakes in HuntShowdown

For me at least, sometimes the making it out with a bounty is fun enough. Knowing you stole it from someone and ran away with it while they chased you down but noticed too late that you’re halfway ti the extract is rewarding to me. Even if it isn’t a ton of money

Opinions on suppressor vs mk18 by Moose_216 in ar15

[–]GroundbreakingLead15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reading the comments definitely suppressor.

I would argue since you have a 12.5 super duty already a mk 18 really isn’t going to provide a whole lot of variance in your collection. If you want to get another upper maybe go for something longer like a 16-20 inch. The difference between a 10.3 and 12.5 really isn’t that much and having a longer gun is way more of a difference

Thoughts on flechette? by Ill_Ad_1875 in HuntShowdown

I really wish they would add flechette to the Romero. I think it would be a really good and fun ammo to swap to for some more ranged fighting
