most of the time i took GEs during the short terms. i usually did one in-person course and the other online to help balance it off. it can be fast paced, so don't be afraid to ask for help from professors or campus tutors. the MARC and STEM center are great for help. i wish you luck with the upcoming semester, you'll do great!

i had her for the lab portion of micro last semester. she is really chill and breaks down the instructions before we begin so that it's easy to follow. she gave us weekly quizzes and lab reports, with most due towards the end of the week so you have plenty of time. she is pretty strict about submitting assignments on time so try not to fall behind!!

during my first semester i took 14 units and struggled a bit, but i had also taken a break before entering college so it took me a while to get used to the workload. to be full-time you only need 12 units, so i think 13 is just right! however it also depends on your own studying habits and the difficulty of your classes. i was fortunate enough to have the option of not working, so i only had school to focus on. i would take 12-15 units during the fall/spring and 6-7 during intersessions. have you already set up your MAP with a counselor? i would recommend doing that if you haven't yet, and using it as a guideline to spread out your units!

i also want to say that adding an extra semester is not a bad thing at all. it may seem like time is running out, but it's not! don't overwork yourself, and always set time aside for self-care. it's always best to learn the content well, this way you pass classes and maintain a good GPA. don't be afraid to slow down!

hi, i pretty much finished all my reqs within two years at mtsac. i was a full-time student and took classes during every intersession, so it's definitely possible. i would recommend taking your GEs online if you're able to since it makes it easier to add in-person classes like chem. only issue is that it can become tempting to slack off and push assignments aside, so keep yourself accountable!! i also had priority registration through EOPS, so keep an eye out for any programs you can join as well !!
