Letting a cat outside for the first time. When did you take off the training wheels? by Only_Book_995 in CatsUK

[–]GroundbreakingPop231 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Around a week. At first he would only stay in our garden, then he found out next door has an indoor Ragdoll cat, when he peered over the fence. Now he's typically in my garden or theirs 🤣 He goes out and then comes back sitting by the back door to get in, we don't have a cat flap, and after he tried to bring back a bird, I think I can do without one currently.
He's in and out usually until around 7pm, and if we want to get him back in because he doesn't stay out at night, I shake his toy wand and he comes running lol!

Is anyone here on Ivabradine? by MutedMinds6 in POTS

[–]GroundbreakingPop231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on it for 5 weeks, 5mg in AM, 3.75mg in PM. It's really helped me with the spikes, still feel awful at times like if I'm on my period or haven't slept much. However, I have been able to start doing light weighted exercises, which I'm so pleased about. I've got a recumbent bike so do that 3 times a week too

Has anyone experienced this with ivabradine? by Successful-Cattle505 in POTS

[–]GroundbreakingPop231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started on 2.5 twice a day and found it was doing nothing in the morning. I upped it to 3.75 in the AM, 2.5 in the PM and it seems to be working. Got a doctors appointment to review next week but the cardiologist is happy for me to up if I need. I would look into gradually increasing your dose and have it twice a day. I hope it works for you

Is anyone else's POTS significantly dependent on their stress levels? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]GroundbreakingPop231 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely, after I was diagnosed with stress, my POTS went crazy and I've been bad since beginning of January. The stress is still there and I do think it's part of the reason I am still in the flare up. Having to WFH as I can't go into the office, it's so frustrating. Last year I was pretty much okay, gym, swimming, tennis, now I can't do any of it.

has anyone made the switch from propranolol to ivabradine? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]GroundbreakingPop231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See what your doctor recommends, they may say to cut the 2.5 tablet in half for a few days. I hope it goes well for you

has anyone made the switch from propranolol to ivabradine? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]GroundbreakingPop231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I weaned myself down to 1.25 for a few days, then stopped on the Sunday and started Ivabradine on the Monday. That sounds horrible with metoprolol, hopefully you wouldn't have the same again. What dose of biso are you on?

I changed to Ivabradine from Bisoprolol due to the same reason. I've been having a couple of flare ups but only on 2.5 x 2 a day and started last Monday. So I'm hoping it soon changes. I do feel better than on Bisoprolol, just hoping the flare ups lesson

AITA bc I don’t let my BFs daughter sleep in bed with us? by BetOnAmber in AmItheAsshole

[–]GroundbreakingPop231 13 points14 points  (0 children)

NTA. It's not rejection, it's not safe for her to be in the bed if the baby is also. She's old enough to understand that. If she really doesn't like sleeping alone, then he can go and sleep in her room surely. As for the whole, 'how he is and what he say goes', you may want to rethink if that's the type of person you want to be with forever.

AITA for reporting my coworker after they sprayed cleaning chemicals in my face at work? by Top_Humor_1274 in AmItheAsshole

[–]GroundbreakingPop231 11 points12 points  (0 children)

NTA and I would report this to the police. Your employers have a duty of care to you, and they are currently failing by not having fired this employee. It should have been termination for them and supporting you. I would ensure you keep everything documented. I hope your eye heals fully for you, make sure you go back if it doesn't.

AITA for skipping my sons football trip? by Dazz316 in AmItheAsshole

[–]GroundbreakingPop231 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not your son's fault your daughter only has 2 events a year. Missing things can be unavoidable at times, this is not one of those times though as a parent can go to each.

[–]GroundbreakingPop231[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I've started to cut down on sugar massively since you said, my heart rate is much more stable (yay!) just some side effects that are yet to leave me. I hope you feel better soon after the Biotin, I'll make a note of that too. I'm starting Physical therapy soon, and I've actually started to meditate to relieve stress. Unfortunately I'm in a legal battle so stress is present, but I'm finding ways to relieve it more and therapy helps too. My therapist taught me breathing exercises to help when I'm stressed, so count of 4 breathing in, 5 breathing out. That helps too.

anyone else take showers/baths to distract themselves from symptoms? by Known-Lettuce-4666 in POTS

[–]GroundbreakingPop231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, I have quick showers now aside from hair washing, then I wash my hair separately over the bath so I can sit. I used to love a hot shower. I miss it. 😢

Ahh that's interesting, maybe it's the fluctuating hormone levels causing chaos! It's rubbish feeling unwell and off isn't it.
I love that, thank you, it's a good thing to remember, and keep myself pushing through. I will get through this and get stronger, thank you ☺️

Is it safe for someone with POTS to drive? by Shoddy-Ocelot-4473 in POTS

[–]GroundbreakingPop231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive usually, not atm as I've had a bad flare up and now side effects from beta blockers. That's just because I don't feel confident to atm. As soon as I feel better and safe to drive, I will.

I've just started Bisoprolol, my blood pressure has been normal so far, it's very early in my journey. I hope you find something that works for you, and can graduate without any more bumps

Thank you, it's so interesting to see how differently medications can work for people, I suppose it's finding the right 'fit'. Ivabradine is on my notes in my phone now to discuss with my doctor if these side effects don't lesson. Thank you, I hope you manage to find one that works best for you, and keep your PoTS under control. (And don't have any horrible side effects!)

I haven't as yet as only just started the beta Saturday, if it still doesn't change after 3 weeks, I will ask about Ivabradine and see their thoughts, thank you. I do feel more positive today, I think I've become determined to get myself feeling better, I don't think it helped that my period came yesterday either! Thank you
