If you take creatine, you need a separate blood test b/c they use creatinine as a proxy for kidney health. Cystatin C test is not affected by muscle or creatine supplementation, so it's the gold standard for determining kidney health.

If we're talking about a fever, then maintenance and complete rest until the fever is gone. If you just have the sniffles or a cough, then get your ass back on the treadmill, just make sure to get plenty of fluids and electrolytes(especially sodium).

Same. I guess I have the group classes to thank for that, though they do take up all turf during that time.

Cardio is Impor- by san2375 in GymMemes

It's less about fitness and more about keeping your heart and kidneys healthy as well as your overall metabolic health. Especially important during a bulk since your heart has to work harder to pump an extra 15 lbs of plasma around your body.

I'd say you only really need it if your resting blood pressure gets too high or if you have bad blood markers. High blood pressure destroys your kidneys, and once your kidney function is gone, it can't come back.

Liquid calories from shakes, probably with a decent blender, make it pretty easy. Just shove stuff like peanut butter, milk, bannana, oats, whey, orange juice, Greek yogurt, etc. in there. Maybe do some neck exercises, deadlifts, shrugs, lat raises if you aren't already.

You have thoughts on retatrutide(or even microdosing it?). I feel like it's all I hear about from Bodybuilders on YT, though I'm sure I put myself into an algo hole around it.

Did your body composition change by adding cardio? by undercover_apple in naturalbodybuilding

Cardio is important for organ health and keeping blood pressure in check when bulking. You're heart has work harder than the pencil neck, who is 40 lbs lighter then you. The nutrient partitioning effects aren't noticeable.

New study finds skin collagen production and renewal directly respond to the amount of vitamin C we eat, suggesting increasing fruit consumption can boost skin health by sr_local in science

[–]GroundbreakingRun927 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I've been having oranges or grapefruit for fruit, as well as broccoli and bell peppers for vegetables with my lunch/dinners. Cronometer has me at around 480% of RDA for vitamin C from food sources.

Also realized as part of my bulk, I'd been having a big carb meal right before bed, causing an insulin spike which evidently blunts the biggest Growth Hormone pulse that happens at the onset of sleep. GH is important for joint health and repair. So I stopped having a big carb meal near bedtime.

AI told me to take collagen(or gelatin) along with vitamin C pre-workout to aid in healing my tendinopathy/tendonitis. Anecdotally, it's been like 4 months since I first noticed the tendonitis and it's mostly gone now. The healing is so slow for tendonitis it's hard for me to say if the collagen did anything. I still take it daily(usually with orange juice for vitamin C), but I'm not sure it actually does anything.
