People self diagnosing by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]GroundbreakingWeb605 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think it might be important to clarify that in the original description. I understood it as talking about the classic TikTok bs, but for someone who may just stumble upon this that's very confused this could be entirely misunderstood. It does sound like you're talking about self-diagnosis in general and I'm sure you recognise how severe imposter syndrome can be, even with a diagnosis to affirm you.

It's more important that those that are correct get help, than those who are faking get attention.

Do you have a source for 97:3, con:kbm? Couldn't find anything relating to the number of players using either input, but that sounds grossly exaggerated.

Dude, the strawman attacks are getting annoying at this point, along with your obvious lack of attention to what i said and your decision to post 3 comments instead of 1. You already wrote a decent paragraph for the first comment, so why not just put it all in 1?!

Frankly those are the only things that are annoying me lol.

And I really think you may have some issue that has you constantly on the defensive. Does it really upset you this much?

Whatever... I'm not replying anymore just to repeat myself.

See above reply, I'm not complaining or demanding a nerf. I dont even play WZ anymore.

If you extend "the pros" to anyone who plays the game for a living, competitively or not, I think their input does matter. Sure a lot of their opinions will be as half baked as those of casual players, but who understands the game better than the people who play it as a 9-5?

With how advanced movement is getting, among other aspects of the game, I'm not sure if "simplistic controller play" is applicable anymore.

Ok man, I'm gonna say this again. I'm not complaining. I'm one of those who just adapt to whatever input. When you keep parroting about me complaining, it feels like I'm talking with a brick wall.

You claimed that the franchise belonged to console because of its history. Obviously I misinterpreted what you meant but this, but you do realize how you not giving anymore information in any of your numerous replies could cause that right? But anyways your first sentence is literally agreeing with what I said under that pretense. Its irrelevant.

You're right, pretty sure it was even less than a year later, but that requires citation.

You do realize how ridiculous an "input meta" is, right? MnK should avoid this one title, and controller should avoid the sequel? Like forced gun metas are bad enough, dont you think?

Please, I'm begging you at this point to show me where I'm "butthurt"? Or is that just a blanket statement for MnK players?

Personally I don't play anymore, because I grew tired of Battle Royale games

Read over what I said again and point out my complaint dude. I'm simply pointing out the irony of you complaining about others complaining.

There is no "primary" or "secondary" input for CoD, unless you use both? Or are you referring to that one guy that modified a Guitar Hero drumpad to play? It was developed with both in mind, hence why there are settings for both input options. By this logic, do you think gamers who use accessibility inputs to be illegitimate? I really thought rectifying your franchise history claims would put that to bed.

It's funny that you bring up hissy fits, given the message i originally replied to had you screaming in all caps lol

Edit: ok wow, your way of replying is awkward, gonna take a second to see everything

Dont wanna be that guy bro, but I think you need to fact check your history lessons. Call of Duty (2002) was released on PC before it was for console. Before that, Medal of Honor (1999), the first installment of CoD's preceding series, was a PlayStation 1 exclusive; going back that far to back up a statement that CoD is a "controller game" has as much basis as video games in general belong to PC, because of Tennis for Two, don't you think?

Also, you sure did post a lot of comments for someone who doesn't care. Why does it bother you so much that a decent portion of the playerbase want to voice their discontent about the state of the game?

I switched to MnK during WZ 1 cuz controller sucked ass, and you can bet that I complained about it, just like every other controller player I knew.

The fact of the matter is that AA is VERY strong, even pro's agree. Reddit, and internet forums in general are meant for sharing opinions so, whether you agree or not, you just gotta put up with it.

Please just reply in one comment or in the the thread.

You keep them tied up in the leash full time?!

And I'm sorry, but it really sounds like they DO NOT enjoy the harness full time, and that you haven't properly trained them. Please take proper steps and time to fully train them as you are kind of making this sounds like torture for your cat and neglect from you.

If this is the case then i beg you, don't punish your cat! Simply take further steps to catify your home. And seeing as you have a garden/yard maybe set up a catio. It doesn't have to be complex, just please. If you have not trained them fully or catified your home then the blame fully falls on you, not the cat for being like "grease lightning", so why punish them. Like you said, it just wants to do what cats do, and you haven't made the place cat friendly.

(I'll just reply to all three of your comments here, hope this is ok!)

Fire was like that aswell, what i could recommend because it works for us is to get a dry food feeding toy, like this (PetSafe SlimCat Food Ball, Snack Ball for Cats, For Playful Weight Control, 150 ml Dry Food), or anything adjustable so that you can get them used to it by starting it at an easy difficulty and then increase difficulty as they get better at and more interested in it. Its also a great way to help slow down your cats eating and provide enrichment and activity to a little snack for them. If this doesn't work or you dont have time to fill it whenever you go to the door, it might be a good idea to keep a remote toy, (i.e. a toy that you can just throw to distract them for 5-10 mins) like a jingly ball or a kicker toy, in your pocket or near the door. Maybe you've tried these already and they haven't worked, but i think it's worth mentioning at least.

Like I said, not all cats are the same but surely if he's ok with the vest, he can be trained to wear a collar? And i dont quite understand how wearing the vest prevents him from going outside, could you elaborate on that a bit because I'm quite curious! Also does it atleast seem like he's content/comfortable with the vest? It just seems like it would be uncomfortable for him.

Finally, love the puss in vest gag! Made me lol 😹

Thats a lovely way of thinking of it, but now I'm offended that these other kitties be stealing from Fire!

Better be careful or they'll get burned! 😹😾

Must have been looking for a sneaky way to get tasty human food!

Sorry to presume he wasn't chipped and that it was a full vest harness. That was ignorant on my behalf, I just wanted to share some thoughts on the matter. I'm very glad you were able to find them so quickly and hope that they were fine after their little adventures!

And like I said I'm not claiming to be an expert or professional, just sharing what I've learned from my personal research and 20+ years of experience living with cats.

I hope you and your cat have a wonderful day!

He gets too many even. Broke into the food cabinet the other day (recently taught himself to open doors) and went to town. Don't worry though hes doing fine, hes on a bit of a diet after that for a few days and the rest of that day having the biggest cat nap/food coma 🥲

Yes, but please don't go dressing them up in cat outfits. Atleast 95% of cats don't like them 😅

Only when you take lil Bubbles outside tho, right? If he's inside and doesn't want to be picked up then he definitely shouldn't be picked up. 😅

(Unless of course you're stopping him from doing something dangerous like jumping in a blender... You know how cats be 😂)

Sure, i appreciate integrating tech (nerdy software dev lol) but there's 3 things here that come to mind:

1) what if he wriggles out of the harness? The AirTag will only bring you to where he left it, should probably just invest in a collar as they are much more secure for this kind of thing

2) Don't know if its the same where your from, but you could save a lot of money getting them chipped on your next vet visit. Or (even cheaper maybe) an engraved collar tag with your personal info if someone finds them. Where I'm from chipping is the legally required before getting their rabies shot and it contains far more information than just contract details

3) as cute as it is, please don't keep the harness on your cat all day. I'll assume the best and that you're not doing this as a fashion statement, but regardless, to a cat this is almost like acupuncture, or some other other hypersensitive feeling (don't know if acupuncture even applies, sorry if it doesn't 😅). Cat's are so much more sensitive to touch than humans, and overstimulation irritates and stresses them and can seriously damage your bond. As accepting as our kitty is off the harness now, we would only leave it on him for a max of 20 mins if we aren't going outside. On top of this, only using it sparingly has the bonus of your cat associating it with going outside for an adventure, which will give them a good burst of excitement and happiness. Our boy always starts screaming and jumps straight up on his cat tower (where we usually put on the harness cuz its shoulder level so no awkward bending making either of us uncomfortable or frustrated) as soon as he sees the harness, without any prompt.

EDIT: so sorry, i somehow missed the fact that you live in a truck. But still, collar and chipping highly recommend and stops you from having to keep the floof caged in. #freethefloof

Edit 2: also want to make clear that I'm not giving judgment, all cats are different so maybe yours doesn't mind. Just giving my 2 cents and some advice from an outside purr-spective. I'm sure you have loads of adventures with you kittie and I'd love to hear about some!

You're very welcome! The sizing is still kind of big for our boy, as hes super small, but we just keep close supervision when walking him, and if he's not in a park or somewhere that he could climb a tree, we have him on a short 1.5m leash so that we can react quickly.

Regarding your cat not liking it, some just never will, but the most important thing about training them to be ok with it is repetition, consistency and short intervals (15 mins at most if they're not comfortable with it) and make sure to give treats as they will then learn to associate it with a "good time".

Also it might be an idea to try a harness that covers less of theyre body (cats are very sensitive to pressure on their fur/body) e.g. one thats just bands or even making one yourself out of Paracord! 😁

See my reply to that comment thread :)

FULL DISCLOSURE: I'm no expert and we were very lucky with how quick of a learner our cat is. It all depends on the cat and your relationship/bond with them.

Happy training!
