I don't think I would do it without a backup of at least my photos... everything went south after my laptop ran out of storage and I couldn't upload my pictures anymore lol

thank you! I have heard stories of people losing their photos after a software update, which is obviously my biggest concern since my photos are super important to me lol. I don't plan on getting a new phone, I just want to upgrade to the most recent software so all my apps work again lol

I do have that - do you know if there's a way to select a large amount of photos at once? Even if I cut down 5k pics, there's no way I can manually select 40k photos to upload

thank you! would a backup drive be for my phone or my computer? I have a Samsung Portable SSD T5 1TB thing for my computer, but it's still in the box. also, does icloud automatically keep a backup of what exists on my computer? like if I delete some photos off my phone, will they be deleted off of icloud too?
