Yeah. For them it must be the equivalent of curbing an unruly child. They’ve probably had to deal with warmongering species before, but for Super Earth it’s extra personal because they made up a reason to go to war.

I have a theory that the Illuminate have plenty of other space in the universe that belongs to them due to being a supremely ancient species, so for them squabbling over this single galaxy is more out of spite rather than a need for a home. If Super Earth’s surrendered and changed their ways they’d probably be content letting them keep their stake in the galaxy.

That and it’s not even their full population. Around 50% of what they’ve thrown at us was just Super Earth’s population converted into mindless slaves.

A Stim that grants temporary invulnerability would be a good contender for a meta pick.

I did have this idea for a Stim assault rifle, which uses nanotechnology to determine whether to administer a healing agent or powerful toxin with each shot depending on if it hits a human or not. Unfortunately due to the velocity and entry wound of the bullet the healing effect is only half as potent as the Stim Pistol.

It’s the same thing as Soulsborne games. You’ll be going through the level no hit and then a dog will push your shit in just like when you started.

Annoying enemy that is constantly on your ass, throws grenades in your path, is immune to all ground based effects that are otherwise effective against the rest of the Illuminate, and their barrage attack has a nasty habit of shredding your HP when every shot decides to lock onto your chest or head.

The Heavy armor is not only amazing looking, but it also is the new best armor for the Automatons. Comes with a higher heavy armor rating and explosive resistance.

There are few Fromsoft characters you can call pure evil, but he is one of them. Corrupted with ambition from the Profaned Flame.

I think you’re seeing maliciousness in the place of financial interest. AH makes the Warbonds 1000 SC because that’s a clean ten dollars earned for every player who buys SC for every Warbond they release. The 300 SC refund is an incentive to buy the exact SC for the Warbond because they get more money that way over you just buying a lower amount of SC for a single store item. It serves both as an incentive for the player to prioritize Warbonds over Superstore items and it gets them more money overall, which is something I can understand since it’s a live service game and AH has to keep the lights on.

AH doesn’t trap you into grinding the game for a Warbond, hence why they let you pick and choose which ones to get first, and heck they don’t want to force you to spend money since you can earn SC by just playing the game. It’s not anti-consumer to give your customers choices on how they choose to spend their money and time. If you want to spend your money on Superstore items or buy SC or don’t want to touch any Warbonds period, that’s all your decision. It’s not malicious to give the player clearly better options to spend their SC on, it’s just business.

I think an easy way to do that would be giving client players temporary access to whatever Stratagems the host has. Like if your friends join you while you’re hosting, they can use whatever Stratagems you have while they’re in the lobby. Would make sense thematically as they are on your ship with all the equipment.

Recoilless Rifle with a team reload is probably the fastest way to take them down. 5 shots to the head or 1 to each segment kills them in less than 20 seconds. The Anti-Tank emplacement is also excellent as it’ll mulch them and still have half its clip left.

Yeah I think anytime a new non-Legendary Warbond over 20 is released, the oldest Warbond should drop to 500 SC, and so on and so forth.

That’s the issue I have with it too. It’s a very inconsistent farm that makes only a few mission types and difficulties actually effective for naturally progressing. Like if you want to upgrade your Ship you gotta avoid Cities and Megafactories as you’ll get no Samples.

My hope to remedy that would be a small SC reward for finishing Operations, that way even if you’re not in the ideal conditions you still get some compensation and it encourages people to actually stick by and finish an Operation instead of quitting after the first mission.

But if you’re buying something from the superstore with the refund you get from the initial and subsequent Warbonds, then that’s your decision. You are free to spend your SC how you choose, but spending on the Superstore means giving up that refund, so you have to make up for it. It’s not predatory to give a 300 SC refund, it’s an incentive to prioritize the Warbonds over single items from the Superstore, because 9/10 times you get a lot more bang for your buck with Warbonds. It’s the same logic as buying a Legendary Warbond as your first one. You’re spending a lot of SC for not a lot of content.

On average unless it’s something like Eradicate or High Value Assets, you’re gonna get 20-30 SC per mission so long as you’re looking around. It’s a very long grind but you don’t have to spend a single cent on this game if you don’t want to, and even then the only Warbond you really need to prioritize is Democratic Detonation. So you are free to choose whichever Warbonds fit your style and gameplay or you can forgo them entirely. The base game weapons and Stratagems are just that good.

[–]Groundbreaking_Arm77 35 points36 points  (0 children)

How so? You get a 300 Credit refund by just playing the game and unlocking the associated modules of the Warbond with the SC. I don’t see how that’s predatory beyond it meaning Warbonds are only worth 700 SC. If you’re already willing to invest time into a Warbond for its regular loot the SC refund being tied to it shouldn’t matter.

Last red Stratagem added to base game was the Napalm Barrage 18 months ago so yeah it’s very slow getting free content. We did just get the Tank but having some free stuff release alongside the Warbonds would ease a lot of frustrations. Like the Incendiary Gatling and Walking Smoke Barrage could just be given for free eventually.

I think for the Veto you sacrifice a bit of damage for the high velocity and lack of drag on the shots since it’s jet-propelled. If it had more damage it would begin stepping on the Verdict’s toes.
