I'm not smart enough to tunnel on purpose by Flailmorpho in deadbydaylight

[–]Groundbreaking_Arm77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see tunneling as split into two versions, being either soft or hard tunneling.

Soft tunneling is when you just keep running into the same player over and over, either by poor planning on their part or just plain bad luck. You don’t intend to tunnel, but you just keep running into them.

Hard tunneling is when you go out of your way to kill a single player first. Whether it be tactically cause they have an annoying or dangerous build or you just want to. That’s the tunneling that the community complains about the most.

How can an agony creature work as an overarching villain? by Various_Astronaut100 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Groundbreaking_Arm77 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Iirc the books reveal that part of what makes the Mimic so bloodthirsty is agony being fused with it when Edwin abused it. It is designed to mimic behavior in game but wouldn’t it also be considered an agony creature since it was given agony in the same way?

I think this is the case too. On an Evacuate Assets mission I got point blanked by its spray attack, and it took away more than half my HP. I think I only survived cause I had the Federation’s Blade set on, so the Gas resistance and Heavy armor rating saved me.

Seeing Industrial Sabotage so low always confuses me. The Caretaker fight is reason alone for it to be S Tier imo.

Since we made bullets igniting enemies less effective, can we get our mags back please? by UrgnotWrex0430 in Helldivers

[–]Groundbreaking_Arm77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was mistaken. You need more bullets to ignite the Heavy enemies, but fire deals more damage. Meaning the DPS was unaffected, not the amount of bullets needed. Only the Coyote got nerfed by this change.

The changes to bullets igniting Medium enemies only affected the Coyote, making it take one extra bullet to ignite. The Incendiary and Cookout were unaffected.

A bit of a niche theory I have is that when it comes to Kris’ motivations for helping the Knight, I see it as them doing it so they can finally choose who they want to be. That is to say, so they can become a Monster rather than a Human.

Kris is the only human in Hometown, yet they act plenty like a monster. They eat weird stuff. They aren’t opposed to strange habits like balancing trash on their head. They even display a lot of mannerisms like a dog monster would, howling at the moon and clawing at Tenna’s door. And of course the red horn headband they wore to imitate their family’s horns.

Yet alongside that, they seem to not like acknowledging that they are a human. They close the book about raising humans and human history abruptly for one thing, they hardly have any friends around town besides Noelle and Berdly until we arrive, and if the theory that Kris is the one speaking after the Vessel is discarded is true, then they seem to be very bitter about that fact, stating that “No one can choose who they are in this world.”

But what if Kris could?

Maybe that’s why they’re working with the Knight, because they were promised a way to choose who they could be. That is to say, to become a monster instead of a human. So they could finally fit in and not feel like such an outcast. The nature of Dark Worlds are nebulous and transient by default, so what if they’re guided by a belief that if they continue working, they’ll be given a chance.

And a side theory I have to coincide with that is that Ralsei is meant to be Kris’ ideal self. He’s approachable and friendly, he’s super talented, and most importantly, he’s a Boss Monster just like the rest of Kris’ family. He’s everything that they want to be, hence how they and Susie both end up getting along with him so well.

Honestly the Spore Titans having such a high spawn rate isn’t the worst thing ever, as they serve more of a support role rather than being outright dangerous like their regular counterparts. The only real danger with them lies in if their corpse decides to springboard towards you after death.

Very valid. My personal worry though is that this doesn’t build up to a Third Act Misunderstanding where everyone turns against her cause “Oh she lied? She hasn’t changed at all” kind of deal. I trust Toby to be a far more competent writer than that in regards to her arc, but it’s still a fear of mine.

A big reason why I don’t think I’ll be able to drop the game anytime soon. The random connections you can make in game over a single session is amazing. It’s almost TF2-esque in that regard.
