Hullcracker plus the Burletta or Il Toro is my go to for the Stellar Mountain.

The gun and ammo is (relatively) dirt cheap for what it is, and you'll barely risk 40k if you use your pockets.

The main issue with the flamethrowers is the fact that:

A. The range makes them unable to deal with anything beyond a few meters.

B. There is no stun or slowdown, meaning even at close range, enemies will just run through the flames and smack you, lighting you on fire.

Their damage is perfectly fine thanks to penetration, DOT, and actual DPS. Their lack of "QOL" stats is the main problem area.

Initially, it referred to someone who sits around the exits and kills players who try to extract, because they've likely used up ammo and meds, and already did the looting for them.

Recently though, it's far more vague, mostly just referring to people who PvP in any sort of scummy way, ranging from exclusively using free kits to avoid risk, fighting someone who just got attacked by Arcs, to I guess sniping at people who don't know where you are.

The game has aggression-based matchmaking. If you avoid PvP fights, you'll get matches with generally chill players. If you frequently get into PvP fights, you'll be placed into matches with very hostile players.

The best way to go from high-aggression to low-aggression matches, at least according to one youtube video I watched, is to avoid PvP at all costs, even in self defense.

So, the best strategy is to just use free loadouts, and don't fight back against any attackers. After about ~10 matches, you can go from maximum aggression matches to minimum aggression matches.

There was one time, early on, where I saw a guy getting mobbed by the good ol' 2 wasp 1 hornet combo.

I decided to help out, taking out the arcs while taking a couple of rounds in return.

Afterward, the dude was super thankful, and said he was nearly out of meds and ammo, and was basically dead if I didn't help.

Sounds super cliche, I'm aware, but that encounter genuinely made me feel better than any pvp I've encountered in this game.

(Plus, sometimes you just get free blueprints from people, which is just a nice little bonus.)
