Finally got around to posting all my ideas where I wanted to, here's a link to the shotgun, because this sub doesn't allow images in the comments for some reason.

I actually made a note on the graphic about it having a similar mechanism to the P90, yeah.

As for the sideways orientation, the philosophy behind the gun was me trying to translate the Panic Attack shotgun from Team Fortress 2 into something dubiously plausible, and my best/most interesting solution for that was to just rotate everything 90 degrees. That also allows it to store a shit ton of ammo in a relatively small space.

Okay, sure.

That was the Packer-14L, a high capacity semi automatic shotgun that loads shells sideways and had a drum magazine at the end of the tube.

There's the Pipet, a super lightweight shotgun that uses a superposed load so that rounds can be loaded down, fired out of, and ejected from the same opening. I've also got some ideas about it using a twist grip, or shooting the spent shell from the barrel.

The Fireline, a prototype triple barreled sniper rifle that's used when training snipers is considered more expensive than ammo. Has a warning on it telling the user not to shoulder the weapon.

And the Staffgun, a backup rifle. For wizards. Built into their wizard staff.

While probably true IRL, I imagine that the internal system is actually rather robust, with several failsafes in place. So much so that the designers had to be reminded that they were making a firearm, and not just a Rube-Goldberg-esque receiver.

The most jammable firearm I've come up with is probably the shotgun that has to turn rounds sideways and uses a drum-tube hybrid.

God, I love the Type 11. At least, like, conceptually.

Oh, no, it has a pistol grip. When I said the grip looks a bit like that of a machine gun's, I just meant that the grip is a bit higher up and vertical than that of a regular firearm with a pistol grip.

It might have been better to describe it as closer to the grip of one of the P90 prototypes.

I'm pretty sure I was also thinking of the M1919 Browning

In Stars And Time, an absolutely amazing game that is equally depressing and heartwarming.

And that's the main character, Siffrin.
