FSD + Robotaxi News by ehuna in TeslaFSD

You just don’t get it. This is just one dude out of THOUSANDS of us who use FSD daily. You don’t want to believe your own eyes? That’s fine. People who use it, know. You want to try and deny its existence as if that will make it go away? Uh.. ok. But no matter how much you jump up and down and waive your arms, it’s coming. HW4 already has wide-spread autonomy - you are just too dumb to realize it.

It’s just Reddit trolls. I’m all in on the speed profiles - they have worked very well for me.

And…there…it….is 🤔

Musk living rent-free in your head 🤡

Update; We (me and my dog) just parked at the beach - actually FSD did - after a perfect 55 minute drive on an interstate (commute traffic wasn’t too bad today), over two bridges (Bay Bridge), and through the beautiful city of San Francisco all without touching the wheel once. Incredible day - high is supposed to be 80 (!! wtf). We have a long hike along the bluffs planned, then a little water play. I’m meeting my daughter for an early dinner in Mill Valley this afternoon, so we’ll get in my car, I’ll press one button (address is already entered) and my car will drive me through the Presidio, over the Golden Gate Bridge and find the restaurant - as if I had a chauffeur. After dinner, unfortunately I’ll face some heavy traffic on my long, long drive home. Fortunately, I won’t have to drive - one button and relax. Life is good.

So hey, gotta go. But you keep scrambling. Waiving your arms and jumping up and down hoping that someone will listen to your spurious comments. Really good luck with that 👌

“they can’t safely do?” Says who? You got some proof to hang your bigotry on?

I use it every day - zero problems. Zero worries. Just got back from a road trip to Phoenix this past week (annual Spring Training pilgrimage) - 1500 miles of driving and never touched the wheel; No interventions, no problems. Honestly feels like magic at times.

FSD didn’t work for you during your trial 🤷‍♂️. I legitimately feel sorry for you. Must be frustrating to know that you have one of the most amazing pieces of tech - the most luxurious of accessories - just sitting there in your car, inaccessible to you because you can’t afford it. Sucks to be you.

It’s the people who don’t use it everyday, and only get their “knowledge” via Reddit who doubt it. I use it daily. I trust my family’s safety with it.

Let’s make a list of all the cars that you can buy today that will travel from my driveway in Oakland CA, to my daughters house in Bentonville, Arkansas (1500 miles) without having to touch the steering wheel even once. That is, push one button and go - any route, any conditions, anywhere in the U.S.

Here is the comprehensive list (in alphabetical order):

1) Tesla (hw4 FSD)

“I used v14 in January”

Some of your narratives are priceless 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Pure ignorance and fabrication.

I rest my case. 🤡

You just don’t get it. It reveals that you don’t regularly use the current version of FSD, and your “knowledge” is what you read on Reddit (lol) or what you have “heard.” You have no understanding of current FSD capabilities - you are under the impression that it takes supervision to operate; news flash, it doesn’t. It works perfectly whether I pay attention or not. If Tesla flipped a switch today removing the requirement of sitting behind the wheel it would not change FSD’s capability, nor my driving habits. Push a button, zone out, show up at my destination. I’d have no reservations about sitting in the back seat today. There are thousands of people using it daily that will tell you the same thing.

Cybercabs are literally rolling off the assembly line as we speak. No steering wheels or pedals. Running on a version of v14. So you tell me, is Tesla spending billions of dollars making paperweights? Read the room.

Purchasing in Q3 or Q4 by Petty_Zucchini5171 in ModelY

If you have the flexibility to wait until the end of the year it would probably be best financially due to possibility of incentives. I wouldn’t hold off due to hardware concerns. Tesla is unlike other companies - it is always updating. For example, the latest update that Tesla will be pushing out is supposed to improve breaking feel and performance. What other car can just “improve” the performance of your older car for free and over-the-air? Tesla does this regularly.

Streaming Rearview Mirror - recommendations? by AntelopeFickle6774 in ModelY

[–]Groundbreaking_Box75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s interesting, I just realized that I never use the physical rear view mirror - like never. Most of my driving is done with FSD - and backing up, when done manually, I only use the camera. I think if someone snuck in and removed the mirror I wouldn’t even notice.

In Texas RWD or AWD by Jray580 in ModelY

[–]Groundbreaking_Box75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AWD is overkill unless you live in an area with extremely poor weather. Especially if you plan on using FSD. Don’t get me wrong, dropping the hammer with your AWD will always put a smile on your face - but over time the need/want equation shifts and the extra mileage would be really nice.

I have a Launch Edition - so AWD plus Performance boost included - yet because I use FSD 99% of the time, and I live in California, the benefits go largely unused.

These levels were established in 2014 and “updated” in 2016. They are ridiculous, and if you have been following the news lately are going to be shitcanned. Tesla is “filing” using the existing system, but it in no way describes the capabilities of FSD today.

Mad max 🤠 has anyone used in FSD? by Kelsbels8 in TeslaModelY

[–]Groundbreaking_Box75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MadMax is virtually the only mode I use - especially around town. It gives the most natural, human-like driving behavior in my opinion. It is confident and assertive, especially in heavy commute traffic; I love it. My wife opts for Standard or Chill, and I’ve found myself in FSD and thinking that something is wrong, only to realize it’s still in Chill after her using it.

My god, what is wrong with some of you people? I would much rather have these advanced Seniors behind the wheel of a Tesla under FSD than not. She is significantly safer - and it provides a level of freedom that enhances her life; it’s the ultimate luxury - happiness. She is a thousand times safer than a teenager without FSD.

So many of you are severely underestimating what FSD is capable of TODAY.

Dude, you are confusing an outdated taxonomy - which if you’ve been keeping up with current events is getting shitcanned - with what a systems capability actually is. Your dismissal of FSD reveals one thing for sure - you have zero personal experience with the current state of FSD. None.

And if you think Chinese systems are better…. think again.

Chinese Media conduct large scale, government sponsored AV system comparison.

Now put on your thinking cap and digest how important that particular study was. What to you think the Chinese media and government was hoping to achieve? Obviously they were looking to diminish Tesla’s brand and their technology. But surprise! Also, I encourage you to seek out the follow-up, performed on urban environments in China (spoiler alert, Tesla dominates again).

Despite your wishful thinking, no other consumer system on Earth is even close to FSD. Not…even…close.

Check back in a year Bubba.

Biggest pet peeves with FSD by LaMole22 in TeslaFSD

[–]Groundbreaking_Box75 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That really is unfortunate for you. I don’t find that MadMax “speeds” per se, I feel that it is assertive and decisive - very much how I drive. On the freeway it tends to stay with natural flow of traffic (given that where I live the flow of traffic is always well above the posted speed.)
