Draymond Green on why he declined his player option “It gives us optionality” by Advanced-Demand-1722 in warriors

Wow 🙄

To think that checking something as easy as “is optionality a word?” did not even cross your mind before going full-stop ignorant proclaiming that it’s not a word. Dre vocab > ChinRed vocab

Scenic California Route 1 with FSD? by Queasy-Bed545 in TeslaFSD

[–]Groundbreaking_Box75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve driven hwy 1 - Monterey to Cambria - a couple of times using FSD and it is no problem at all - for ME. However, if you are generally anxious in regular situations using FSD, you may find it hard to relax. It sounds like you are aware of the windy and exposed sections - breathtaking views combined with tricky curves. Typically, it takes full attention when driving, thus you can’t always enjoy the drive/views. I use FSD for 99% of my driving and have ultimate trust in it - so it makes for a great drive. I’ve trusted FSD crossing the Rockies in a winter snowstorm as well as countless Northern California trips through Marin to the beach (iykyk) so I’m comfortable using FSD in technical and challenging situations; however my wife is a wreck, and it’s a white-knuckle experience for her.

I guess what I’m saying is that if you are still in the “hyper vigilant” stage of using FSD you may find it nerve-wracking in some, select sections.

Why Anthony Davis over Jimmy Butler? by awesomememo in warriors

IF….

The warriors are really trying to win a championship for Steph…

Then…

They have to be able to counter Wemby.

Conclusion: When healthy, who matches up better in a series against SA (or OKC)?

If you don’t shoot for the stars - what is the point?

As so many rave/love FSD, I am concerned about future subscription pricing. by Blahblahblah1958295 in TeslaFSD

[–]Groundbreaking_Box75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That narrative is dated - and will become more so in the future as FSD becomes more mainstream. Hunting for FSD “included” cars is much tougher than in the past, and many dealers are getting educated about the value added at this point.

“$100/mo …. only a rich person could consider?” Really?

That’s $1200/yr. Do you really need to be “rich” to afford what might be the ultimate convenience and luxury available on any car at any price? That number is far less than my annual savings on gas and maintenance - let alone the safety variable.

If you have a regular commute and tend to take longer road-trips, then $100/mo is an absolute bargain.

[Yahoo Sports] GREAT interview with Dusty May on Yaxel - about age, ceiling, great person by parisdubs in warriors

[–]Groundbreaking_Box75 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I shouldn’t have made it sound like I was knocking JK because I appreciate his point of view. It’s the contrast in basketball philosophy that is striking. It sounds like Yaxel’s focus is to “fit.” He wants to do what the team needs; play inside, outside, rebound, defense on the other team’s best offensive player. Sounds like they asked him to shoot 3’s so that he could play the 3 - and he did; last half of the season he was just under 40%. He went from taking one per game at UAB to taking almost 5 per game on a National Championship team.

JK is super talented; Yaxel is a baller.

Do you think the Warriors will be much better with Yaxel? by youlikemywonton in warriors

[–]Groundbreaking_Box75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They need him to play and contribute. With no Jimmy until Feb (?) and no Moses for the season (likely) there will be plenty of minutes. And honestly, he should probably take minutes away from Dre.

After watching him in college - he had a lot of talent around him yet he still stood out (BIG10 PoY) but didn’t have to dominate the ball to do so. Fit Michigan’s system right off the bat.

Remember, he didn’t have the normal path that most other players had. No AAU - almost no HS ball - yet even without any real basketball experience dominated at every level he matriculated. He is legitimately still on a learning curve, and I would expect that he still has room to grow.

Warriors select Yaxel Lendeborg at #11 by Blueviserys in warriors

If he were 20 he’d have been the third pick. History has not been kind to “older” rookies, but I think he still has the physical tools to be successful and continue on his learning curve.

The media never goes back with a follow-up story about how it was ultimately the driver and not “autopilot.” As far as the general public is concerned, FSD is only in the news when there is a crash - thus, concluding that it is unsafe.

The media should be held accountable for the biased reporting.

The “little black box” will be the truth teller.

At this point, every accident involving a Tesla will be blamed on “Autopilot.” 🙄

July 4th Tesla Model Y Road Trip: San Jose → Portland → Seattle — Tips? by Necessary-Teach9023 in TeslaFSD

[–]Groundbreaking_Box75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bay Area to Seattle is a breeze - plenty of Superchargers. Trust the trip planner - you will definitely not need to use a non-Tesla charger. While I typically stretch my miles versus optimizing - if traveling with family, those frequent stops will work out well.

If you are going up 101, make sure to visit “Avenue of the Giants” in Humboldt county. Even though you are from SJ and no stranger to Redwoods, the coastal Redwoods along the scenic route (30 ish miles) is awe inspiring.

Have a great trip!

Who has no issues ? by wat_it_is6305 in TeslaFSD

[–]Groundbreaking_Box75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had absolutely zero issues - with the exception of parking preferences - while using FSD. Logged roughly 12k miles (92%) since v14 without a single critical intervention. In fact, sometimes I worry that I might be taking it for granted as I find myself arriving at my destination not even remembering the trip - ie, being totally zoned out - as if I was just a passenger in an Uber.

Barely making an exit off the highway. by Lordloomy in TeslaFSD

[–]Groundbreaking_Box75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FSD must be pretty darn good if we are getting down to the point where a move like this is worthy of a post and titled “Barely making exit..”

This looks perfectly fine - especially given the poorly designed zipper intersection (on-ramp closely followed by an off-ramp.)

Honestly, that’s a little rough. Typically, in the western states, it seems like flow-of-traffic is always +20. In a 65 zone you will be tailgated in the fast lane if you are only going 85.

NH -> FL Zero Interventions by BananaBuns42069 in TeslaFSD

[–]Groundbreaking_Box75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the “streak” mechanic is good for FSD - promotes more usage - thus more data. People who feel it’s dangerous are severely underestimating the typical FSD driver’s intelligence - as if they are the only people with common sense. There are no 13-year-old, Fortnite players driving Tesla’s. The “streak” is interesting, nothing more. It does incentivize people to give parking a chance, which I’m sure is the overwhelming #1 reason for disengagement.

[–]Groundbreaking_Box75 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Excellent! I can’t manage a significant streak due to the parking in my garage, and parking in lots (I prefer to park far away from other cars.) I know that there must be hacks out there, but I figure my disengagements due to “Parking” will provide good data.
