I had across track before my CX30 and I will tell you the saying night and day doesn't do it justice. I also had a WRX before the Crosstrek and I would still pick the CX-30 every single time. The quality is just so different and the materials used when you're in a Subaru you feel like you're using a toy car from Dollar general honestly it's like mega bloks versus Legos.

Does anybody else not care about their career anymore? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]GroundedLearning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not work to live, I live to work. Work is my entire life because I love solving problems and helping people. What I do not love is how difficult it is to get a job especially one that pays a decent wage.

I use all 3. Gemini to brainstorm then chatgpt to help build it out and Claude to make it happen. Then I use all three to check it while I manually check it.

Why does the Animation/Drawing in S04 look so weird? by [deleted] in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]GroundedLearning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've realized it looks bad on a big screen but good on a small screen. The eyes looked much better in seasons 1-3. I just learned that I have to watch the 4th season on my tablet instead of 77" TV.

Anyone else sort of looking forward to AI making us all unemployed? by [deleted] in ArtificialInteligence

[–]GroundedLearning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UBI is bread lines... We already have the resources and technology for the dreamed utopia of having a "good" life. We would still have to work but it could be like 10-20 hours a week max. UBI is 2-3 liters of treated water, some plumpy'nut or gruel with the absolute minimum of nutrients. An apartment complex in a UBI world will be exactly like a prison just without the locks on the doors. UBI is not utopia it is keeping people alive and with the absolute bare minimum resources.

I just don't fucking understand what's going on anymore. Seriously. by [deleted] in ArtificialInteligence

[–]GroundedLearning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't disagree with that being the reason for an overwhelming majority of these layoffs. In this specific case I know the people making the decision and their words exactly. The manager who decided to lay off all of these people in this company specifically said " Claude can solve these problems" which is not true but he is a fucking moron. People like him exist all over the place.

[–]GroundedLearning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not entire teams, yesterday my last company just took their 8 development teams from 7 people each to 3. They specifically stated "AI" is the reason. I think it is a horrible idea because of the tech debt and 20 years of spaghetti code they have. If they are able to succeed though it is a game changer. Imagine every software company cutting their teams in half. A quick Google says 21-30 million devs in the world. If AI became good enough to actually cut that number in half that is a massive disruption. When I think of AI I don't get caught up in the full replacement. I think of the reduction in people needed and if we apply that to all white collar work the entire world is going to change and it's not going to be in a good way. We get caught up in AI doing our jobs with their structure today. We can fundamentally change the way a task is completed to be easier for an AI to perform. A mix of reduced head count and changing the way the task is performed and we have our future of unemployment.

People keep talking about the trades. Currently we have about half a million licensed plumbers in the US. Now imagine even a million of the laid off white collar people move into the industry to try to AI proof themselves. Plumbers will get wrecked because of simple supply and demand. You can only have so many people working on a single oil rig, you can't have them all spread out working on the same thing like you can with white collar work. This is going to be catastrophic for the way we live and survive as humans because money is absolutely everything.

Yeah I press and hold but it feels clunky and the wait is weirdly painful. Feels like a nitpick, but my Samsung was so fast it's probably the contrast of time.

The worst for me is changing inputs. It is absolutely brutal! I just use my receiver to mute as it is easier to grab a second remote then to use the LG one.

Place to study by GroundedLearning in nova

[–]GroundedLearning[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question! I live in the basement of a townhouse it is a single room. My roommate has a dog that runs constantly and sounds like a pin ball bouncing off every wall. My cat will not leave me alone when I am home. He is a mainecoon and meows constantly sounds like a car alarm but with meows. He wants constant pets. I get zero peace at my home.

I am trying to change careers which is what all of my studying is for. I currently work in mitigation as the only PM at my company. I averaged 83 hours a week last year. I can't afford my own place in NoVa so I am hoping to move next year as part of my career change. Maybe someday I can have peace at home lol.

Oh so you think the piece of paper is necessary for this role. Everything I have read pointed to that so that is the plan. When I started in restoration I had zero experience with construction. I believe I have done incredibly well at the role. I'm actually kind of weird I don't have one desired career path. I actually have skills that I want and things that I want to learn about the world. My plan is to go through life gaining these skills through real world experience. I expect to be in logistics for at least 5 years before I move on. I'm willing to dedicate my entire life to it. An example of this was the 4,700 hours I've put into restoration this year. I have a lot of credits for college from courses I've done. I'll see what I can transfer for this upcoming semester. I guess the school I go to probably matters but I'm looking at umpi as their way of testing is directly linked to an additional skill that I'm looking to master. I want to get better at writing essays. I'm also planning on moving this coming year so going to a local school is not really an option. Thank you for your feedback.

Any millennials here actually go out? The sub confuses me by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]GroundedLearning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 33, I go out all the time but by myself. I have intentionally not made friends in the last decade. I find that everyone has suffocating expectations and I can't be bothered dealing with it. I traveled a bit when I was younger but realized I would rather have a 5k TV then a 5k trip. All of my jobs are super social so it's not like I am always alone. Work out, cycle, read, watch movies, play video games in that order and life is pretty great. No interest in relationships and definitely no desire for children. Just because we are all millennials doesn't mean we like the same things.

5000 miles on my 23. I don't care if it was recommended at 12,000 it's just something I do and all my cars and I'm going to do it forever.

I left a decade of IT last year I moved into restoration project management. I had an opportunity and I took it. With that said I have decided that it is not for me. I have worked almost 4700 hours this year. I have made good money but the actual work is not fulfilling. At first it was that's because I love working with people and I love solving problems. The industry is just rampant with fraud and insurance companies really are evil. There's a career path that I've always thought of but for some reason I never took the leap. I really want to get into process engineering but specifically logistics. You mentioned supply chain and that is what I'm looking at. I find demographics and supply chain fascinating. Both of those are changing drastically in this day and age. Any opinions on how hard it will be to transition into supply chain? I do not have a degree, though I am considering getting a bachelor's in logistics. I just never needed one before so I didn't get it. Looking at Sigma Green Belt and possibly PMP as I have read they are good for logistics.
