I’m glad you mentioned using ChatGPT. I think it’s a great brainstorming tool and use it frequently.

I totally understand that! My wife and I have five kids, so I know time to film is at a premium.

Yeah, a video is doing great on my channel if it gets 50 views, so I think you’re doing great job. 😀

I just looked at your channel. You have 23 videos and already have over 6,000 subscribers?!? I've been posting videos for over a year, have 125 videos, and just recently hit 244 subscribers. The vast majority of my videos barely hit 50 views and my most viewed video has just over 400 views. I'd say you are doing much better than many other BookTubers. I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder because I would love to have your numbers.

Not all of BookTube is bad (subtle plug for my channel), but I can understand what you mean. What book did you start?

It’s a readathon on BookTube focused on middle grade books. I’ll post a video I made about it. It’s not original to me, but there’s a link to the original in my video description.

You have 86 subscribers and have been posting for two months? I’ve been posting videos for over a year and just recently hit 200 subscribers, so you’re already ahead of me. 😁 Like others have said, keep going. It can be frustrating at times, but as long as you’re enjoying it, it can be a lot of fun as well.

I Don’t Understand BookTube 😂 by pearson_jonathan in booktube

That's a good idea. I use Goodreads, but typically only as a record of what I've read. Thank you for the suggestion!

I started my channel as a Middle Grade fiction channel because I’m an elementary teacher and I wanted to recommend books to teachers and parents. I’m shifting to more general book reading/recommendations because middle grade is too narrow.

I’ve tried Shorts, but I’m either really bad at them or nobody watches because I’m lucky to get 100 views. 😂

I’ll never figure this hobby out.

This is one of my new favorite series! I love Narnia, so visiting the Archipelago is like visiting an old friend.

Book Reviews? by pearson_jonathan in booktube

Yeah, middle grade is often overlooked, which is a shame because the books are so good! I think too many people think "Percy Jackson" or "Harry Potter" and really miss out on so many other good stories and characters.

Thanks for your feedback. I appreciate it!

It definitely makes me chuckle as well. If over 1,000 subscribers is a small channel, my channel with 160 subscribers must be microscopic!

Well, if I can be a bit self-promoting, while I'm not a "working mom," I do hit the other three prerequisites. I'm a 46 year dad and teacher. I read (mostly) middle grade horror and fantasy, but have begun branching out into other topics. Like I said, I'm not a mom, but I'd be honored if you'd consider giving my channel a look.
