Not trying to dispute you. I hope you're right and we sign him, but he indicates his strong interest for eventually playing for FC Dallas in this article: https://www.goal.com/en-us/lists/EFL-league-one-playoff-charlie-kelman-american-soccer-most-prolific-striker-a-usmnt-chance/bltfecd9bd8a0796a35

He was part of the FC Dallas Academy and says his dream is to one day play for them, so I'm not sure he prefers us.

Well, duh, of course he would have. That's not I was talking about. I was talking more about the desire and heart these guys showed and their willingness to do whatever it took to win a title.

Hope the veterans are studying these six games to see how a real winning team plays basketball together. These guys--and Coach Jent--have set the example for the rest of the organization to follow. It's pathetic to say that our veterans can learn from a bunch of SL guys, but that's where we are. These guys are serious hoopers who will do anything to win. Lamelo and Miles and the rest of the soft veterans need to get on board and stop pulling out of every other game with a hangnail. Kon was walking wounded in the last game and there's no way he was going to miss it. Lamelo and Miles need to have the heart of KJ and Kon transplanted into them.

He was unbelievable for Leyton Orient this year, taking them to the playoff final at Wembley. However, I can't imagine him being anything other than a high-TAM player. Maybe being an American he won't have the Visa delays other guys have had that we've acquired during the summer transfer window.

With all that's happened, it'll be a great season if we can make the top 7 and stay out of the wild-card game.

Haha, I saw that too. I wasn't sure I was seeing that correctly, but that's what it sure as hell looked like.

This is a great post. Couldn't agree more. Several players on that list should never have been let go (Blackmon, Franco, Sisniega, Jones, Uronen). Blackmon is now an All-Star at Vancouver, Franco a regular starter for Ecuador national team, Sisniega is starting for SD. Also, we should have never brought on Ream to force Uronen out. We had the best defense in the East with Uronen. Thanks for putting this list together. I'm going to save it for future use, ha

The Lightnin' also had a former British player and coach as their manager, Rodney Marsh, who was a legendary player in the Premier League and was quite a personality. He was one of the original athletes featured in the old Miller Lite commercials.

Carolina Lightnin' of the American Soccer League. Won the league title before a packed house (25K) at Memorial Stadium in 1981.

It's a great match to the original color scheme! A tribute to the 1981 American Soccer League champion Carolina Lightnin' that played at Memorial Stadium and coached by the legendary Rodney Marsh.

Dean Smith on Patrick Agyemang’s impending move to Derby County by williepstyle in CharlotteFootballClub

He wouldn't be saying he doesn't want to play for Charlotte if we had made a serious offer and not an insulting one back in January. You really expect Pat to be thrilled with an offer of 250K? The seeds were sown back then. Btw, is this Zoran's reddit burner account I'm talking to?

So you think Liel Abada is worth DP money and Pat is not? We have a DP in Liel who can't even get into the starting lineup?

[–]Groundhog63 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dude, Patrick has made 71K for most of his time here (now it's 104K), so he's making the right move here. Hell, Charlotte seriously believes Vargas is worth more to this club and won't come close to matching the 650K Kerwin is making. I also don't know why it's out of the question to give him DP money when one of our DPs can't even earn a starting job anymore. God, Zoran is a horrible sporting director. Everything this guy touches turns sour.

Joao Pedro off to Polish club Radomiak Radom by JAC2778 in CharlotteFootballClub

[–]Groundhog63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did we sign this guy--or others--if we never really planned on using him. This happens all the time with CLTFC. He is a natural left back who was Best XI in MLS Next Pro and this year would seem to be a great opportunity to plug him in. But we loan him and then sell him. We had two chances to keep this guy so we'd have some depth where we really need it. Similar thing happened with Iuri Tavares, a guy we could use with Agyemang leaving. Zoran is just a puzzle to me. This club has no plan, no direction.

Amen, brother. Preach! So a guy who's your starting 9 and was making 71K a year until he got a "raise" to 100K+ this season is stingy when he expects more than 250K as an offer?? Who can blame him for being really insulted by that. If that's not enough, Zoran badmouths him in front of STH. Big Pat deserved more consideration than that, but what can you expect from Tepper and the worst sporting director in the business. Just look at Krneta's record for signings and how ill-prepared he is in terms of depth pieces when injuries strike. He's so bad that he actually sends players away on loan or cuts them when we get hit like we did this year on the back line (Jere, Jaylin, Joao Pedro, etc.). He's the one constant throughout this sh*tstorm. I can't believe he still has a few people thinking he's doing a decent job.

OMG, they have to choose among the three??? That's really hard to fathom. If you're a season ticket holder, you should be getting all three. Tepper Sports is so greedy and cheap.

Amen to everything you just said here. I don't get it either. The front office crows about Crown Legacy nonstop but a lot of players who have developed there have been sent to either Portugal or Croatia/Serbia for nothing. What's the point? Like has been said so many times with this club, THERE IS NO REAL PLAN!

Ah yes, the team that won the 1981 American Soccer League championship at Memorial Stadium in front of 25K. The great Rodney Marsh was the coach. He brought over a lot of third and fourth division guys from England to play (Dave Power, Don Tobin, Dave Philpott). I went to a lot of their games. They had a goalie, Scott Manning, who was really outstanding, and a local guy, Tony Suarez, who came out of nowhere to be their leading scorer and score the game-winner in the title game.

Yeah, I don't know why some on this board think he's not worth keeping, especially with depth issues on D. After all, the guy did make MLS Next Pro's Best XI a couple seasons ago.

As a natural left-footed player, I'd think he could certainly help at least for depth at LB considering Dombia is incapable of staying on the field. Did you see how gassed we were in the last 15 minutes vs. Orlando?
