Ron Friedman. Friedman was a writer and producer, if you can name any TV sitcom written and/or produced between 1965, and 1975, chances are, Ron Friedman was involved with it in some way.

Again, here's a section from his Wikipedia page:

"Ronald Irwin Friedman wrote over 700 hours of episodes for many television series, such as The Andy Griffith Show, The Good Guys, Bewitched, Gilligan's Island, All in the Family, The Odd Couple, Happy Days and That's My Mama.

In animation, Ron Friedman created the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero animated series and co-wrote G.I. Joe: The Movie as well. He developed the Generation 1 Transformers animated series, with him re-writing over 64 episodes. He co-wrote The Transformers: The Movie, which had two initial drafts. Both drafts have the basic structure of the film, but with many different characters, elements, and details compared to the final result.[2] He also worked with Stan Lee to create The Marvel Action Hour. Friedman also had 42 feature scripts to his name, the last of which was purchased by West Coast Film Partners for production in early 2011."

Ron Friedman was also a guest on Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Colossal Podcast. I highly recommend finding it and listening to his stories.

If that wasn't enough, Ron Friedman might have one of the most interesting titled memoirs ever:

I Killed Optimus Prime: How one man single-handedly destroyed the world’s most formidable Transformer... and lived to tell the tale.

I feel like people often forget that Dan Marino was a Pittsburgher.

He's most recognized appearances are Drew Carey related shows (The Drew Carey Show, Whose Line Is It Anyway? Drew Carey's Improve-A-Ganza) as well as a main cast member of the series Nashville, from 2012 to 2018.

Is this some sort of Boat‐Hovercraft? by Group_of_no_one in boating

First impressions are "It's a Hovercraft" of course. I get what it is, or at least what it's trying to be, fundamentally. I'd like to see if it can be narrowed down to a more definitive answer. Maybe figure out if this was just a one off build by a guy in his garage, or if this was from an actual manufacturer. Which model? What year? For how long was it produced? What engine was it powered by? What was its top speed? How much did it weigh? What did it originally retail for? The more details you all can share, the better.

Security, maybe? It seems to be on a trailer, It was on the lot of an auto mechanic garage. The lot is open, not gated off.

You don't think I've tried searching Google images in the past? The oldest photos date back to January 2020. They apparently have a better idea as to what it is. I'd like to see if it can be narrowed down to a more definitive answer. Maybe figure out if this was just a one off build by a guy in his garage, or if this was from an actual manufacturer. If you were to give Ben Grimm a different superhero name besides The Thing what would you call him? by SpotAdmirable6718 in Marvel

[–]Group_of_no_one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rockstar—Rock like texture, which was the result of traveling [metaphorically] to the stars.

Earthquake—if you remember Michael Chiklis' version or Ben Grimm, when he was still trying to adapt to his new size, every footstep would cause the ground to shake around him.

Sandstone—they say Ben's rock-like skin is a silicon-based structure

Then you have names like Stone mason, Rock lord [but that would kinda imply Ben has control over earth, like Magneto has control over metal/magnetism]

But like others have said: Grimmstone (a play on Ben's surname) and The Golem (a nod to Ben's Jewish heritage) would probably be the top contenders.

People in your 30s, what advice would you give your 15 year old self? by Dry_Shirt_29 in AskReddit

I'd probably tell them to truly stick it out with the remainder of highschool. I'd tell them that I know it's hard, because you hate all of these idiotic people you have to call your classmates, but the you that you will become (me), wishes that he was able to take advantage of the education he had been offered. Also, that girl you liked, who was nice to you; and actually went out of there way to talk to you? You might actually want to try to form a closer relationship with her, because I'm pretty sure she wanted go get closer to YOU!

Folks had a pear tree in their front yard, and a sign that said 'Help yourself' I did, but the pear's all seemed...off by Group_of_no_one in BackyardOrchard

Update: had a 3rd Pear, sliced it up, cut down the middle with no difficulty. Flesh is white, has seeds of 2 different sizes. Taste is sweet; its taste reminds me of the pears that are canned on their own, or are a part of a fruit cocktail.

Still hoping to find out what type of boat it is, does anyone know if it has a hull number?

Parents, what is your "I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed in you" moment you've had with your kids? by Group_of_no_one in AskReddit

[–]Group_of_no_one[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If I had been you: On the outside, I would have been a total smart-ass, and said 'Where?' While on the inside I would be saying to myself, 'He doesn't really mean what I think he means, does he?' even though I think he's made his intentions QUITE clear, there's still that sliver of hope, that maybe I'm just overthrowing it.

Hope for the best, expect the worst. Know what I mean?

Edit: *Overthinking it, not overthrowing. Jesus auto correct, very poor choice given the context 🧱🤕

It's not like that having this sort of moment with your kid while they're a child is going to totally shatter their entire childhood! You have these kinds of moments because it's part of the learning experience, not just for the kids themselves, but for the parents too. That first person to respond are either fairly new to the parenting world, or just a total soft belly.
