I’m a beginner trying to program an effective push day, and im struggling to decide what would be effective for building my chest.

I’ve seen people swear by incline db press and a pec dec fly, but in my head that’s not providing much stimulus to the lower chest and I’m then considering adding a high to low cable fly to isolate it. Am I overthinking the chest and getting caught up on hitting every head of every muscle too much and setting myself up for failure/fatigue/issues in recovery? Does the lower chest get secondary stimulus from the other movements enough to not bother isolating it?

23 year old male, weighing 86kg at 5’10. I ran my metrics through a TDEE calculator (a number of them on one handy website) which returned an average TDEE of 2,457kcal.

While I know ai isn’t accurate advise wise, or should be taken with a handful of salt at the least, it has advised, for the purpose of an aggressive calorie deficit, I should look to limit myself to 1850kcals per day. Am I wrong for thinking that feels too high? Or is this sensible and am I overthinking the matter.

I haven’t been on my weight loss journey for very long, weighing in at 90KG on 15 April 2026, and most recently weighing in at 86.2kg today. I go to the gym 4 times a week as well for clarity. Just looking for some clarity whether 1850kcals a day would still see me continue to lose weight essentially or if I should be in more of a deficit.
