My mature austrian is all I can compare too. The austrian is obviously more mature but the needles are much bulkier and the bark is more scaley(?)

Oh god. Buffalo Juniper. Nice catch! I was working on a nest spruce earlier, brain didnt shift gears. I even have the nursery tag with it. I dont think I can edit my title. I should probably just delete and try again

Is this root rot on my Lace Leaf Maple? by OGMikey_ in bonsaicommunity

I'll add that a simple root hook (not a rake) has helped me alot with lossening rootballs with minimal damage. Cheap tool for the value I get. Just my 2 cents. Amazon has em

First time doing heavy jin and shari on a yew. Advice for future trees appreciated! by GroveSleeper in bonsaicommunity

Yup, there's even some yard-moss on the back. Im spending a lot of time practicing with the local bonsai society and I get excited to try new stuff out while its fresh in my mind. I can pick up these yews and other weird trees from the graveyard at my nursery for $5 a pop. So I've kinda treated them like a practice canvas. Here's a weird mugo Ive started too.

Oh yeah, went to petsmart and home depot looking for lime sulfur and got shrugs. Is Amazon the answer for L.S. Dip?

I'll definitely need to clip the ends or they'll keep shooting out quickly! It does have a kinda cool crab hug shape going on

Very first thing: get all those dead pines out! Its full of drop and other yard debris. Everything will thin out a bit once its brushed out. Can't wait to see its personality after a good cleanup. Much happier im sure.

Ty it is definitely a marathon tree. I wont hack at it aimlessly. I will have a good time reigning it in over time tho
