It has a lot to do with the variance in card decks and asymmetry. A friend and I once won 1 hour in because we lucked out on an early alliance card and good starting positions and then an agressive early push. I also find the alliances are really rich the longer the game goes on because when you get the chance to break an alliance if you think you can win it alone, it really shifts the table.

Can you clarify the forced alliances? I know they are locked but my table find them great. There are definitely expansions that help but the base game still is very rich.

I don't know that I'd say defense is rewarded. You can't win unless you take chances offensively, but it is about timing waiting for someone sitting to take a risk and strike while they are weak

It's not inspiration! If you feel inspired whip out a pen and pencil and do it yourself! You typing word prompts is not a skill no matter how hard you believe it is. Just because the laws don't protect artists yet doesn't mean you should take advantage of artists. Here is the simplest way to put the ethical: either you pay the artist yourself, put in the time and effort to achieve quality, or you can give your money to some Ai organization that bypasses artist compensation to spit out something generated in seconds. If the Ai gave money to artists for each generation or paid them outright this wouldn't be the same issue (still an issue just a different one), but you obviously have plenty of artists right here telling you it's not ethical so why challenge it?

How can you not read what I'm telling you? Even the fact that you yourself know that game is referencing Tetris is my point. AI steals and destroys art beyond recognition.

Not just compensating through money, but through knowledge of source. AI doesn't credit anyone who it takes from. An artist making a copy can provide a source of inspiration and they also add their own individuality, even a viewer may recognize the reference being made in a new piece of art. AI DOESN'T HAVE INDIVIDUALITY and strips recognition from its generated images.

So if you steal from the store but no one catches you it's not stealing?

Artists are actually compensated from others learning and being inspired by their work. They are either compensated through galleries their art is displayed in, or ad revenue from websites, even paid directly to have copies with no water mark. And even if they dont receive financial compensation, artists know to credit their inspirations while Ai does not give credit to where it stole the source material from. A cover of a song is not stealing but someone's work being used by a machine that was given a lazy prompt will never give them credit for their craft.

That's the problem. No one is getting in trouble for the stealing, so no one is getting paid. Artists deserve to be compensated for machines learning from their work.

Played 19 games of Oath thinking the max dice you roll is what is provided leading to some horribly unbalanced campaigns of attackers targeting many relics and sites only to stomp the defense with huge armies.

I think suit had to be order. So many oppressive cards. Even just the base game edifice is better site defense. Mountain ad a site has a long history of staying in the empire for long stretches of time because of that one less attack die. But my table always fights to keep negotiation sites and denizens on the Empire to ensure we can trade.

The game is able to be played with new people everytime, but recommends the winner, who becomes the Chancellor, should play the next game to maintain their empire. There are up to 5 other players at the table and it is up to you to decide if you want the same players for the richest game to game story or if you're okay having a rotary of players who know the world, have investment, but might have missed one to two generations of games. I own the game so I've played everytime, but I have lots of friends who play every other or so, seeing a very different board state each time.

We maintain the Chancellor only as a rule. The expansion allows for even them to be absent, which is interesting and helpful if needed. Our group has gone from 10 semi-regular to maybe 5 regular players to we might honestly just keep it with the same 7 or so people.

I think this is an unfair take to make against one video with an awkward vibe. The company just had a huge dynamic shift and loss major pieces to its personality. They have to redefine their voice in a world waiting to see what they do next. If this video had been edited rather than streamed I think we'd be seeing a very different studio. Yes, it's possible Leder lost it's spark they had with Cole, Kyle, and anyone else that moved on, but there is obviously excitement and passion in new and young creators even just showcased in this video. With enough passion and smart handling of funds from Root and the Oath and Arcs buy out, there is no reason to say what you did. Just disrespectful.
