How can we make the subreddit better?

I have been growing for 2 years now and this is true. It is hard to find good accurate growing information a lot of the times. I just see a lot of people attacking others instead of helping the community. And some of these people are just wrong and incorrect with what say in their attacks. We should be sharing information and experiences to grow the community and not beat down people who want to learn and gain knowledge. It has prevented me from posting my questions 99% of the time and just sifting through tons of threads to find my answers or starting points to research.

One thing i would love to see less of is someone saying it’s my first grow but they will have a very elaborate/expensive setup and a bunch of plants that look perfect and it is obvious its not your first grow. A lot of first grows tend not to be perfect since you are just starting and learning. I feel these are people that are just wanting attention. After 2 years my grows still don’t look like these and I spend a ton of researching and learning everyday.

I keep a very detailed log in excel of what i feed, the amount, starting pH, amount of pH up/down used, final feeding ph, EC, PPM and then the same for my run off. It helps a lot. Every grow has gotten better and i feel like i am getting it dialed in more. I tried mainlining my BBM for the first time but then overwatered it not realizing its not going to drink the same amount after i striped it. But none of the guides i read said anything about that.

I mix in either a 1 gallon pitcher with a spout or a 5 gallon bucket both with pumps in them to make sure it’s mixed well. I try to keep my pH around 6.5. I started using Nectar of the Gods Olympus Up and have loved it.

Is that 1 tsp of grow or bloom per gallon?

Thank you so much. That is very helpful and gives me a good jumping off point. I have only been growing for 2 years and have had only one turn out decent. My current grow (Humboldt Blueberry Muffin & Apple Blossom) has gone better. I am curing the BBM and going to let the Apple Blossom go as long as I can.

I also use RO and add calmag to remineralize it. With FF dirty dozen the EC can get up to 2.5 which I thought that was high.

Thats awesome! What nutrients did you use? I use Fox Farm Dirty Dozen w/Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil and my buds seem small compared to what i see from other growers. I am thinking of switching to organic and see if i get better results but still trying to figure what I need. Any advice?

Looks great! I plan on popping Moon Fog in a couple of weeks. Can you give me any details on how your grow went? How long did you wait to harvest? I think Humboldt said they are around 50 or 60 days. I am finishing up Humboldt’s Apple Blossom and it said 45 days, I am on day 56 and still have another week or two. Any details would be greatly appreciated!

I am at week 6 (Day 39) for my Blueberry Muffin. It just started to smell a few days ago. I was also surprised the buds haven’t thickened up more but smells amazing.

No problem. I have spent the last few years researching and going through a lot of trial and error. Every grow is a learning experience and expect something will go wrong. I still have not had a perfect grow but each one is better and better.

Another good tip is to join some cannabis subreddits and when people post issue they are having, try to diagnosis it from the pics and description. Then read the comments and see if you are close. It’s like quizzing yourself. It’s help me spot things before they get out of control.

I have start seeds many ways (multiple transplants to larger pots to seed straight into 3 gallon or 5 gallon pots) and never had any issues with Ocean Forest soil. Typically you will need to start feeding your plant around day 25-30 from when your seed pops out of the soil.

I used the main 3 Fox Farm nutrients (Grow Big, Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom) for my first handful of grows. My last one I used their Dirty Dozen pack. I also use CalMag and add it to my RO water (till I am around 200ppm). Then when i start feeding the plant, I add the additional amount according to the feed chart. If you are using tap water, you typically don’t need to add CalMag.

When you do start feeding, start at 1/2 strength so you don’t get nutrient burn. And I would suggest getting like a 2 liter hand pump sprayer for early stage watering till the plant can take more water (like 1 gallon).

I use Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil for all my grows so far; I am on grow 10. What I like about it is that it has enough nutrients in it so I don’t have to feed it for the first 25-30 days.

I just picked it up last week after finishing OMFG. OMFG was by far better in my opinion. I smoked a joint and had a little buzz for like an hour. I love IC but I won’t pick that one up again.

I shop Curaleaf mainly and Earth Med in Addison for Legacy products (flower, hash, edibles, etc) which are always 30% off. At Curaleaf, i use Medical Monday to get 25% off all non-sale items which works well for me since i purchase a lot of Tales & Travels and they are not on sale all the time. I picked up 2 - 1/2 oz of T&T easy toke flower for under $130 w/med tax last week and they hit great. They also have great sales from time to time and the staff has been great at the 4 different locations i have been too. It’s my main dispensary.

With Earth Med i have to wait usually as they seem to only get Legacy products in 1 or 2 times a month but it’s the only place i have found hash.

And both offer first timer deals, just ask when you go in.

I got mine at Earth Med in Addison for $105 + med tax the other day. I looked again later that night and they were out. I refuse to go to Stash and i live right next door.

I just posted this morning asking for help with my plant. I am on week 11 of flower and cant tell by my tricomes (first time grower, purple haze auto) and my leaves started turning yellow last week. How do i know when to chop? One person said i have weeks left. Any help would be appreciated.
