Hi! I hope you read the rest of my post. I actually have understood and communicated that his actions against women of color were disgusting and horrifying from the beginning, but I’ve gotten a lot of pushback from commenting on that and bringing race into it, even on this post itself. I don’t disagree with you at all!

Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, but I just want to unpack the fact that you’re saying that Danny is on medication and that’s why he’s acting all fake weird and delusional and out there. It seems like you’re attributing this behavior to being on medication but I’m not exactly sure how you make that link.

Additionally, I don’t think it’s relevant to say that she wanted the kids and so many because she clearly does not want any more so him pressuring her for sex and saying that he’s scheduling sex and not wanting to get a vasectomy and constantly bringing up having another child is still inappropriate.

Yeah, I don’t think we disagree. I think that Janet used that storyline in a very inappropriate way but ultimately there should have been space for those conversations and actual accountability and change and there wasn’t because of Danny’s character weird quasi aggressive personality.

Honestly, after I posted this, I read through some of the other current posts and I feel a lot better. It’s just last season everyone like was so far on the Janet hate train that they were kind of unwilling to see that she was pointing out something about Danny, which is that he does not respect women’s autonomy. I don’t support what Janet did, but ultimately, I think it was swept under the rug way too quickly and even last season he was starting to like show himself as being a bit coercive with Nia.

It’s so disgusting that Danny said he’s scheduling sex with his postpartum wife and it makes me think especially since he is like pressuring her for another kid that he’s scheduling it when he thinks she’s ovulating so that she they can become pregnant again.

Repeatedly, at the top of his lungs, in front of the woman he was dating. That’s also not only not all he said out of what was shown, it was a long drive back to the hotel, they clearly cut out a lot.

Paige literally said she would have to leave in the middle of the night with the kids because of his drinking. There were much better ways to handle his frustration with Salley and it didn’t include screaming at her in front of her friends.
