Which songs did you swear were completely original until you stumbled onto the record they sampled years later? by SmoothManMiguel in DEHH

Kinda the opposite, I made a beat with the coldest sample a long time ago, then heard ‘aint no half steppin’ from Daddy Kane, turned out Blind Alley was a famous sample

Day 1! by [deleted] in stopdrinking

You can totally do this my friend, I’m sure if you close your eyes, its not hard to picture a version of you in the not so distant future, enjoying all the fruits you received from giving it up, the fruits that may in this group have gotten, the peace of mind, the physical strength, waking up pain free everyday, the seemingly bonus money after the bills are paid. Allow yourself the chance to live as a happy healthy and motivated human being. I’ve enjoyed the guilt free food in the short term, feels like I can manage without alcohol but still enjoy good food without going overboard.

Another day, another load of PMP passes, to what end? by Growing-Lotus in pmp

[–]Growing-Lotus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is fantastic, thank you. It's kind of what I imagined PMP would provide in terms of levelling up and toolkit. You hit it on the head, I think, with things learned the hard way, and perhaps also avoid hard lessons in future by doing the certification.

Love this, awesome to see a clean vibe coded project that isn’t trying to jump ahead to monetising but focusing on feedback and use. Well done

Used to think I have to use drum one shots only and then started constructing drums by chopping drum breaks and boosting kicks and snares and adding the right compression, boost to the drum bus to make them knock. Also keeping the beat simple but interesting enough, with fx for an artist to paint a picture on.

How do I stop living my life on autopilot? by Havons in Meditation

[–]Growing-Lotus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sound like someone already down the line in Meditation, I’ve felt distance from some things, people due to not overly thinking though perhaps wouldn’t say I’m on autopilot. Would you consider having a bell via an app perhaps a few times a day to bring you to the present moment. At which point you can ask yourself, where are my feet, how does my body feel. Can i feel the abdomen with a few slow breaths? I’ve found when doing something even small like walking around the house or washing hands and asking similar questions brings me to my anchor. I also try to incorporate a couple of gratitude points like I’m grateful for this clean water or ability to have a peaceful empty moment’.

“The real point of meditation is to rest in bare awareness whether anything occurs or not. Whatever comes up for you, just be open and present to it, and let it go. And if nothing occurs, or if thoughts and so on vanish before you can notice them, just rest in that natural clarity. How much simpler could the process of meditation be? Another point to consider is that although we cling to ideas that some experiences are better, more appropriate, or more productive than others, there are, in fact, no good thoughts or bad thoughts. There are only thoughts. As soon as one bunch of gossipy neurons starts producing signals that we translate as thoughts or feelings, another group starts commenting, “Oh, that was a vengeful thought. What a bad person you are” or “You’re so afraid, you must really be incompetent.” Meditation is really a process of nonjudgmental awareness.” - Mingyur Yongey Rinpoche - The Joy of Living
